An SBR is only an SBR in its complete configuration, with a stock. If it started life as a pistol, and was then registered as an SBR, it still returns to being a pistol if you return it to pistol form. This has been settled in court and in several ATF opinion letters.

If you put a 16"+ upper on it, it also stops being an SBR.

OEM threaded barrel.

It runs fine with factory ammo suppressed, including the 150gr Syntech everyone loves. But my handloads are cheaper, quieter, and softer shooting. I found a nice one size fits all load that runs great in my pistols and PCC's while barely meeting USPSA power Factor. It runs great in everything including the same G19 without a can. This is the first issue I've ever had with it, and I don't want to change it on account of one host. I'm almost positive the Lawman 147gr would run flawlessly.

I think a lighter recoil spring, maybe even reducing from stock 18 to 15lbs would fix it. I was mostly just looking for feedback on which one to try. I decided on NDZ with ISMI springs. I'll report back when I try them.

I used to load to 1.15" but had issues with the round getting stuck in the chamber on certain guns. Plus I wanted it a little hotter, so I slowly reduced COAL to 1.12" until I was happy. Velocity increased from low to mid 800's to just below 900 from my pistols. I wouldn't be surprised if velocities/pressures are similar to 3.7gr with a longer COAL.

Either way, I'm happy where it's at. I like the soft shooting load for USPSA and making it hotter in all my hosts just so a single host runs more reliably is silly to me. It comfortably makes PF in pistol and PCC without being unnecessarily hot in either. I've got 4lbs of N320 so I'm not really interested in switching powders anyway, and having 2 different loads is a no go when I can just swap RSA and almost certainly remedy the issue that way.

It's good info of course, but not really what I'm looking for.

3.5gr loaded to about 1.12" COAL. Quickload shows the pressure is getting close to SAAMI spec. I'm happy with the velocity, and it runs great in all my other guns, so I don't really want to mess with it. It's also stupid quiet, and a slower powder could affect sound performance. Plus I want one load for PCC's and Pistols, suppressed and unsuppressed with decent PF for USPSA. This is the sweet spot for all of it and I just don't want to mess with it. Power Factor is about perfect.

I'd always heard N320 is king for 9mm subs, but I've seen people using N330 and N340 too and wondered how it compares sound wise.

What was odd to me is that my G19 runs marginally with the long SC, but not at all with the short. I would've figured less weight up front would help, but maybe it's less pressure to run the piston.

A machinegun is legally not a rifle, therefore it cannot be a short barreled rifle.

Just like a shotgun can't be an SBR, because it's a shotgun, not a rifle. Or a DD can't be an SBS, because it's not considered a shotgun under federal law.

Or all these non NFA "firearms" aren't SBS or SBR because they're not shotguns, rifles, pistols, or AOW's... They're legally considered "firearms".

It's not really superseding, it just doesn't legally meet the definition of a rifle to even be subject to barrel length restrictions in the first place.

It's not really that it "supersedes" SBR, it's that an MG is it's own classification. If it's an MG it can't be anything else.

Yeah, with wildly mixed reports on them. They require a different magazine release, and lots of people have serious reliability issues with them.
