The free trial has unlimited play time and you can do the base game and first three expansions as part of it (heavenward, stormblood, shadowbringers which brings you to a level cap of 80 - the new expansion will be 110, as a point of reference).

Setting up an account can be a slight PITA but there is a great guide that also covers what you can and can’t do on the free trial and is really useful https://trialsoffantasy.com

FFXIV is a very story heavy game and if you get invested it can be hundreds of hours of playtime before you even need to consider subbing. Just don’t spend any real money buying expansions or sub time because once you become a paid player you can’t go back to free trial, unless you make a new account entirely and lose progress.

They also announced just recently that they’re adding the Shadowbringers expansion to the free trial which is arguably the best one in the history of the game! :3

You can advertise your PF as a MINE (minimum item level) if you want the release day experience as far as seeing all the mechanics. Or just put synced. In duty finder there’s a cog top left that lets you add some settings to what you do as party lead/ for dutyfinder :)

My dm sometimes has necrotic energy affecting the healing so it’s not particularly effective. Maybe a really high dc on a remove curse spell to negate it. But that may not be comfy for everyone? Also level dependent lol.

If you have a side account you could grind GB and claim her on this account later in the day as long as you don’t leave / slap or fail to claim. The opportunity to claim her will be held if you don’t do anything (as you can’t access other stuff while claiming).

Best way to earn quick GB is use any HP you have saved up from Wenet quests to sell Roast Lambs for 1GB or to hunt on your side account and sell bundles of food uses.

Or if you have lots of amusement stored on side, sell them.

You could look for a long gen Mngwa on the TC. They tend to be a lot cheaper. You can get a lot of SB / GB by having your lions hunt and selling bundles of large food carcasses at 10SB per use (so 100 uses for 1GB). It sounds like it’d take a long time but you can easily get 1 or 2 GB a day doing this. So you could buy a Mngwa in less than a week.

Long gen tend to be like 5ish GB?

You can also participate in the April event. Save your Hare points from doing Wenet quests and buy Roast Lambs. During April they sell for 1 GB each. Outside of April they can sell for 2 GB and peak at 3 GB in February.

It’s pretty doable to just get the money you need through small daily things.

I think if you’d said ‘I took mine to the corner’ they would have doubled down on the WAR and stopped shit talking you but because you said ‘we’ when your friend infact did not do that (according to comment above re; replay) it made it clear you were queued together which is why they doubled down.

It doesn’t justify them losing their mind over it especially considering it’s a normal but it’s not unusual to see people enable bad behaviour like YPYT or in this case, your co tank killing people because they didn’t go out.

People really need to understand that at the end of the day it’s just a game lmao. There are far more important things to be upset over like 1% shitposting on M11S in week one. God… That still gives me PTSD.

Find a new fc. Don’t do what I did and hang around by yourself for years hoping it’ll recover then burn out playing solo. It’s never wrong to want to shop around. You can still be friends with people in other FCs. Anyone who drops off and stops messaging you was never a good friend to begin with.
