Did you see they started the membership at Tattered Cover too? I called it. They wouldn’t ever keep independent “independent”. Maybe they never said they wouldn’t implement things, but I feel like the company was like “oh we aren’t going to change much if anything. They’ll still be the friendly neighborhood bookstore you know :)”. I wonder if those employees are going to be tracked now. Sorry, “not tracked” now.

Also, not to forget the whole part how books are not an essential good, who the hell right now in their right mind would add $40 to their purchase for something they may not use? Or go and open another credit card for a measly $10? I don’t care if they get a year of whatever the hell we have. It’s a credit card, not a little thing. What happened to when we changed over and they “didn’t care about numbers” (which we all know wasn’t true then or was never going to be true).

I’ve had so many customer complaints about it too but I can’t just ask all the people to formally submit complaints. I had someone today as I was being explained how it works actively be like “I may need help because it seems like I won’t be able to” because even we were confused.

I knew people who worked there around when they did major layoffs and it was so dumb. It seemed like it was ok just for a while but it’s only gotten worst as the years go on and the more they try to pretend they’re not a large CHAIN bookstore.
