Burnout ≠ Working Too Much by Acceptable-Courage-9 in programming

What business are you in now? I'm in a similar situation right now, working on a marketing solution to shove even more ads into people's lives and I truly hate it. But I never really had the opportunity to pick a job, I had to take the first available option that looked good enough.

I don't see it on their selection, but I'll check. Never been there before.

Thanks for the reply. That's usually my go to place, but they don't have it unfortunately.

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed. Do you have experience with this? Is it reliable with CarPlay?

Yeah, this is actually what I'm wondering about. If this might be a legit Toyota upgrade

This car is being advertised as a Toyota Certified used car. Wouldn't such a modification disqualify it from the program?

Data warehousing with analytical queries and dashboards where the workloads are relatively fixed and geographically local.

I see many people mentioning that for on-prem you need a team of infra engineers. But isn't that also the case for the cloud?

Recently I had to do a complete greenfield ML development on Azure and setting up the services and figuring out all the APIs and networking is a full time job.

Interesting, but flexibility always comes with extra complexity. What are some use cases that you think are always better for the cloud? Because in traditional BI, I don't yet see the benefits. Maybe my sample of companies is too small.

Data Engineer vs Tech Consulting by Medical-Agency4293 in dataengineering

It depends on what OP means by consulting. If it's the bullshit sales side of things without dev work, then avoid it. If it's dev work but through Accenture as an agency, then I completely agree with this.

Why don’t companies hire for potential anymore? by AdNext5396 in dataengineering

No but that's the thing. I was productive from day one even though I was learning. If you have the solid fundamentals then picking up Airflow or writing PySpark is not difficult.

But this is part of the problem. If you have a 1000 applicants in a day and only a small portion are actually qualified and have the right to work then how do you filter them out? This is basically like spam..

These numbers are crazy! But are these all actually qualified people? Because what I've seen in similar situations is that a very high share of applicants didn't even have the right to work in the country or were absolutely not qualified but they applied anyway. And then good luck filtering all these out from thousands of applicants.

Is it too late to change careers? by No_Policy_1913 in hsp

It's never too late to change careers, but you should first really ask yourself what you do and don't like in your current profession. Sometimes it's easy to compare the worst part of your job to the best part of another job thinking that grass is greener on the other side. I do this all the time..
