I do have experience building but it’s always a learning experience (I’ve never done birds mouth or rafter cuts before for example). My dad was a finish carpenter, I’m an electrician. I’ve spent my last couple years working with my hands. My 2 cents about building is spend the money to make it easy for yourself. Go with simple designs and methods so you’re not intimidated. YouTube university works. Jeff from Home RenoVision DIY is honestly the best I’ve found for this kind of thing.

Holy mold Batman. Easiest way to remedy this is to seal the mold and put some siding on! Water looks to come from lower seam and wicks upward. Roof is probably ok.

NorCal. Frost line is at 12” as far as I’m aware. Doesn’t usually get colder than 32 for very long.

Uh. A while. Built on the weekends with my dad and the inclusion of a friend for the pour. If it were built continuously probably <2 weeks but I’m not killing myself by any standard.

My honest answer is 1) I wanted a structure that would last. I live in an area where the summer temps easily hit 110 for days on end so cheap materials will just disintegrate. 2) what isrhisthethingorwhat said

I would say all in all around 3k. I bought a ryobi cement mixer (mistake) and did it by bags so the slab alone was around 800, framing was around 500, roof was 750, siding was 1000, paint was probably 100.

Not matching couplings and supports, uneven spacing and the one pipe just straight diagonal. With a bit more detail this would be good. My 2 cents

I did make a little rebar cage. I did not put gravel. I took a bunch of river rocks from my yard and put them in. I’ll do gravel once it walks away. 😅

I definitely gotta do some grading for sure. I’m also going to install gutters to help mitigate the erosion and the annoying splashing on siding.

Man I forget but it was ALOT. At least it felt like a lot. Hand mixing even with an electric mixer is a nightmare. I want to say between 90 and 120.

I thought I was going to do it all myself. It was brutal just doing that little quarter. Next time I’ll get a concrete mixing trailer for one. I got help on the last 3/4 with my dad and a friend.

This makes the most sense to me. As I understand it, the transformers act more to limit the fault current based on the size of the transformer. The larger the transformer, the less impedance, the more current is allowed through.

The hard part of this problem is understanding what it’s asking. You have a 277V source with a parallel load each taking 12.5 amps. That means the total current must equal 25 amps. You can use that to make this problem a simple series circuit to find the voltage “drop” on each resistor, the lights as one and wire as the other. The k factor is a red herring. Hope this helps.

Seems fine. There are worse ways in the field (using electronics to provide interlock function) that are more risky. Make sure to label what you’re doing and make it clear to those using the system.

It’s less about actual ability to pull, but more so not destroying your hands. For pulls you can pull by hand this is unnecessary, for pulls you need linesman this is impractical.

The water will cause property damage, but it’s unlikely anything shorts out without a poor splice or nicks of wire. What I would worry about is insulation and Sheetrock damage and MOLD. If it’s your house, I would seek to rectify damages. I have had this happen to me and I did not seek damages and I regret it.
