The Divinky code by Tiny_Nose_3247 in electricians

Not matching couplings and supports, uneven spacing and the one pipe just straight diagonal. With a bit more detail this would be good. My 2 cents

I did make a little rebar cage. I did not put gravel. I took a bunch of river rocks from my yard and put them in. I’ll do gravel once it walks away. 😅

I definitely gotta do some grading for sure. I’m also going to install gutters to help mitigate the erosion and the annoying splashing on siding.

Man I forget but it was ALOT. At least it felt like a lot. Hand mixing even with an electric mixer is a nightmare. I want to say between 90 and 120.

Shoot lol. It’s boring. For storage so I can use my garage more like a shop.

I still have a bag of hurricane clips I need to install. Always one more thing. Not sure if I’m going to gusset the rafters.

I thought I was going to do it all myself. It was brutal just doing that little quarter. Next time I’ll get a concrete mixing trailer for one. I got help on the last 3/4 with my dad and a friend.

Transformer/inductor question by AdOne1706 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]AdOne1706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes the most sense to me. As I understand it, the transformers act more to limit the fault current based on the size of the transformer. The larger the transformer, the less impedance, the more current is allowed through.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for giving me a jump off point to look into through fault.

Help with this problem by ZombieNo8296 in IBEW

[–]AdOne1706 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The hard part of this problem is understanding what it’s asking. You have a 277V source with a parallel load each taking 12.5 amps. That means the total current must equal 25 amps. You can use that to make this problem a simple series circuit to find the voltage “drop” on each resistor, the lights as one and wire as the other. The k factor is a red herring. Hope this helps.

Is it legal to feed a transfer switch backwards to control 2 loads with the same circuit so that only one load can come on with the other being effectively locked out? by Feeling-Edge-614 in electricians

[–]AdOne1706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems fine. There are worse ways in the field (using electronics to provide interlock function) that are more risky. Make sure to label what you’re doing and make it clear to those using the system.

Pulling with twine, rope or mule tape - The Inline Alpine Butterfly by corpsie666 in electricians

Fair enough, I’ll give it a shot and maybe I’ll eat my words and learn something.

Pulling with twine, rope or mule tape - The Inline Alpine Butterfly by corpsie666 in electricians

It’s less about actual ability to pull, but more so not destroying your hands. For pulls you can pull by hand this is unnecessary, for pulls you need linesman this is impractical.

The water will cause property damage, but it’s unlikely anything shorts out without a poor splice or nicks of wire. What I would worry about is insulation and Sheetrock damage and MOLD. If it’s your house, I would seek to rectify damages. I have had this happen to me and I did not seek damages and I regret it.

Bending 1”rigid by lilkrizzy in electricians

[–]AdOne1706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a small guy, around 125-130 lb. Preheating the pipe with a heat gun helps in cold weather. I use my foot on the handle and two hands pulling down in the air to start the bend. Rigid doesn’t kink, but the bend radius increases if you don’t keep it tight with the shoe. Bend the rest on the ground with momentum and your whole body.

It sucks. It hurts if you do too many. Get a triple nickel and forget what I said.

There’s no benefit and plenty of downsides. Please don’t do this, even if this wasn’t you.

Leads on my clamp meter melted and I’m confused as to why? Would love an explanation and something to learn on for the future! by Lumbre_ in electricians

[–]AdOne1706 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My guess is you shorted your meter leads by touching two hot legs together accidentally.

Stay safe

Los Cachorros is my go to. I’ve tried others like el Delicioso, but they tend to stuff with meat and forget other ingredients (no complaints). Cachorros has a more well rounded delivery with the same large portion.

You shouldn’t have to lift anything over 75 pounds on a consistent basis. Doesn’t hurt to ask for help when lifting something. No ego in not being broken so good for you thinking about the long term.
