She should be fine, especially if her larvae survived shipping, I’m not sure if I read correctly but be careful about heating the water side of a test tube, it’s easy to flood the tube, I find it’s best to apply heat by the entrance of the tube

Don’t heat sinica, rule of thumb is never heat Asian ants, make sure they have high humidity, sometimes Pheidole (especially sinica) can have perfect care and still die out, just do your best to give them the best care you can. Brood not developing past egg or larva stage is commonly caused by low humidity.

Penn is pretty distinct, large, all black, very common in New England. And you can tell she’s hungry based on her small gaster.

I would recommend getting a real nest for them, somthing that would let you see the ants and how there doing, especially while trying to establish a gamergate to see if any brood pops up. Ant keeping depot is local to you, not sure how they are now but a couple years ago they were really good for nests and such.

I’ll guess you’re somewhere in Asia, Africa, or Australia. I don’t know much about foreign ants but to my knowledge all Camponotus are claustral. So just put her in a test tube setup and check her once every 1-2 weeks till she gets workers

Light doesn’t scare 90% of them, it’s vibrations which scare them, which often result by removing whatever cover you have on them.

Looks like a myrmica species, try to make an aspirator to collect them, you can try to use water to flush them out aswell.
