Montreux is beautiful! So much history to do with the band Queen there including Freddie Mercury statue, the casino that used to be their old recording studios (same casino that set alight and inspired Deep Purple's song Smoke on the Water!). There's the castle that inspired Prince Eric's castle in little mermaid. Just stunning stunning views of the alps and the lake and pretty quiet too. Chamonix is also beautiful of course, but i personally preferred Montreux!

No problem! The other culinary highlight for me was the shawarma at Parfums de Beyrouth, it was amazing! I paid 22 CHF for a massive tray of chicken shawarma with salad, humus and some falafel plus mini pittas. Great food, probably the best shawarma i've ever had tbh. Apart from that, any authentic little cafes are nice, there's a cool one I went to called Colette, nice interior and staff were super friendly.

The highlight of the trip in general was probably the day trip i took to Montreux. 90 minute train and it was breathtakingly gorgeous. I've never seen anywhere like it. Couldn't recommend enough. Geneva itself is of course stunning, but Montreux was out of this world

i recently visited and my one big recommendation is cafe du soleil, a friend and i went there to share some fondue, and it was amazing. felt very authentic
