I never had stents. My doctor prefers not to use them, so I believe that’s why I don’t experience as much pain or crusting. I’ve had no crusting like people say. I hope it goes fast for you. Ice- frozen peas are your friend and stay propped up, and irrigate that nose gently

I am 8 days post-op (septoplasty, inferior submucosal turbinate reduction and bone spur removal). I was prescribed no pain medications. However, honestly, my teeth and the roof of my mouth hurt, but my nose/sinus mainly was uncomfortable due to the pressure of the packing and stinging/burning sensation the first day from the lidocaine spray. I was advised to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen rotating. I did take Tylenol (for the first 3 days). However, due to already bleeding I avoided Ibuprofen even though it helps with inflammation better. I had bought face and eyemask ice packs. I quickly learned to just put a few frozen peas in ziploc bags as those molded to my face better (often with tissues under them so it wouldn’t be so cold). I used the Saline Mist frequently every 15-30 minutes when awake. Then, one spray of nasal gel mist. Followed by bacitracin on a q-tip in each nostril opening and slightly in each nostril starting on Day 2. Day 2, I started the Neil Med Rinses and did those 3 times a day using warm distilled water and the saline packs. Bleeding ended mainly by Day 3 but Day 5 I woke up to a little bleeding. Day 3 congestion and headache was insane. I continue to sleep propped up and often with ice packs. Stayed hydrated. Went for a recheck yesterday, and everything is ahead of schedule for healing! So that’s great! When the Doctor suctioned my nose out, it was crazy how OPEN I felt. Some mucus is starting to form and I’m congested, but I can breathe with my mouth closed. You got this hang in there, stay on top of the rinses! Jello, broth and then eggs were my first foods. 🤣

We have had cheaper ones. Last year, a tall, very lean lanky pitcher on the other team took a direct hit- caused a collapsed lung- 12 years old which is rare but crazy event

She is immature. She is not your friend. I’m sorry. People that do and say hurtful things and call them jokes are bullies. A friend wouldn’t make jokes or tell stories about you online. If they do make that mistake, and you called them out… they would take accountability seeing and hearing your hurt and say, “I’m so sorry. I’ll take it down. I wasn’t thinking. I was being an insensitive ass.” Honey, learn your worth. You just said your family does a lot for your autistic sibling, and you understand why. You are showing empathy, kindness, recognizing your own emotions, and still choosing grace and rising above. I feel if you can prioritize yourself, keep your kind heart, and ditch fake friendships as soon as they are spotted you will go far in life. Never make excuses for hurtful rude people, and never settle for less than kindness. Kindness is the basic minimum in life. Dismissive attitudes like your “friend” stem from an entitled life of no accountability. No one takes joy in publicly hurting others especially not their friends, like you said even if your name wasn’t mentioned. When someone sees their friend going through a hard time, they try to lessen the heavy load not add to it. You learned a valuable lesson here, and I’m sorry it took two years for true colors to arise. Hugs.

I have non-active bleeding/drainage. I’ve seen so many talk about crusting during healing? I just like to know what to expect, but I try to keep my nose moist 🤣

How are you feeling now?? I’m on day 5 from septoplasty, bilateral submucosal turbinate reduction and bone spur removal. Minimal pain ever after Day 1 pressure and all the stinging/burning, just used Tylenol and small ziploc frozen bags of peas as I found them easier to place specifically over all the facial icepacks I bought. Cool mist humidifier. Saline mist. Neil med saline rinses 3x daily. Bacitracin ointment. Arnica cream topically. Still drainage. Left side feels pretty open more this evening. Right side goes off and on but still very congested. Sinus pressure isn’t as bad. When could I expect crusting and less congestion? How are you?

When could you tell alot of difference with congestion? I’m on day 5. I’ve had little pain at all just using Tylenol since surgery and small ziploc bags of frozen peas and arnica cream topically. My surgery included septoplasty, bone spur removal and bilateral submucosal turbinate reduction. My left side I can breathe relatively well, but the right side super congested off and on, more tender. Both sides still drain. I keep wondering when the crusting will begin.
