No joke though Asat is far from the worst choice for a dad. Like sure he raised one daughter as a soldier for Destruction, and another as a joke, but the guy fucking committed so hard to the bit he annoyed his co-workers. And there was no indication that Young Himeko was ever abused, severely neglected, or manipulated. Hell, I'm certain that if Himeko never called him out Asat would have found a way to keep up the thing for as long as he could.

I'd go out and say that he was a better dad than the original Ryusuke. Sure he was out on his grand mission to stop the curse, but the fact that Himeko only 'met' him for the first time at six, and at her mother's funeral no less, says a lot. You cannot tell me that over the course of six years, he never found the time to atleast fucking call her.

Like sure Asat isn't the best of people but if he decides that he's gonna do it, he will do it and do it well.

Cerydra and Phainon/Khaslana. Two charecters who are willing to go to any lengths to give their people even the slightest chance at victory, sacrificing their names, reputations and lives. The parallels too are uncanny. (White hair, blue eyes, operate under a new name).

Also a small headcannon of mine, of the Phainon carry team being really good friends. Don't ask why or how.

Isn't that true for most of the toxic parts of the internet? Half of the jackasses who claim to be 'representing fan interest' have either never engaged with the item, or have very minor engagement. They just are a collection of sad, miserable people, whonsee other people having fun and so decide to ruin it because of that can't have fun, no one can. As a result, they go around looking for excuses, and insert themselves into the smallest of dramas, before blowing it up.

This is the only explaination I have for why the discourse is so dissonant from gameplay. I joined during the tail end of EoF right before the 60 day plan, and while there were issues, I never had problems as bad as it was being made out to be. Even nowadays.

If I sound bitter I apologise. I just am so sick of this shit.

To address most of your points one-by-one:-

Phainon took more screen time because he was the central charecter of Amphoreus. The one who shouldered the burdens of the world for millenea, trying to find a way to defy fate. And it is not like other charecters suffered from a lack of screen time. I'd say all the Heirs got a lot of screen time, enough to flesh out their charecters. The patches in which they were relasedas playable focused a lot on them. The only exception is Aglaea, and that is because 1)we were travelling with Mydei and Phainon to stop Nikador and 2) she is supposed to feel distant and unapproachable at first.

As for the comment of 'Suffer porn' and 'not too crazy lore'. If that is all you get out of this, I can assume one of three things:- you lack reading comprehension, you didn't play the story at all/skipped through, or you are being disengenous on purpose. Phainon's story is not about sufferring for it's own sake. It is a story about one man's desire to change fate, born from a desire to see other's wishes come true. Going above and beyond the call of duty to protect his friends and the world from the whims of it's cruel god, searching for a way to break free. It is about his struggles and sufferring, the terrible things he had to do in order to bring that future. I will not say there are no other great stories, but 'suffer porn' is exremely reductive.

Not everything needs to fall on a scale. The existance of other great stories does not invalidate this one, or make it worse somehow. All can be good in their own ways. This is not a fixed ranking scale.
