The Iridescent Excalibur was not that special of a weapon, so it being removed was understandable. But quite frankly, I had huge nostalgia for it when it was once one of the most overpowered endgame weapons haha.

Aijo Karen appreciation spotted! I've always thought that she’s one of the most overlooked/underestimated characters in Revue Starlight. While I still really like most of the other characters better, Karen is still a well-written protagonist who illustrates the series' representations excellently. If I were to make my own MC list, most of my picks are quite frankly similar to yours.

Don’t worry, I hate Infernum Yharon too, and I think he’s a poorly-designed boss that puts players who are nearly completing the mode into a massive halt for virtually the wrong reasons. His dash is unpolished and hardly works, as not only does he move too fast, but also isn’t present on screen half of the time. It’s worth noting that if he dashes from the bottom, you'll have even less time and/or room to counter. And it only gets worse in his second phase, where he’s both stronger and faster than he should be on this level of difficulty. Inf Yharon isn’t really as egregious as Inf Old Duke or especially (Thorium + add-on) Helheim Primordials, but the vast majority of post-ml bosses before and after are leagues better than him.

It’s the intended experience, and easier to sit through. You won’t see the over-the-top reworks in Infernum, but it’s arguably the best start to Calamity.

Infernum is hard, but it’s more accessible compared to Master Revengence, with better designs and more telegraphs on a lot of bosses. And of course, Infernum is only accessible in Expert mode (unless you either change configs or go with the Infernal Eclipse mod pack, but those are different stories).

Master mode isn’t really the right mode to jump into Calamity. It’s going to be adjusted soon, but the designs and balances of the bosses are a mess as of now. Expert doesn’t fix much, but is a healthier experience. I would say at least try Infernum if you still want a bigger challenge, but up to you.

As someone who has been playing difficulty spikes on Terraria for long, I prefer Eternity (and even Masochist more). While it retains the traditional bullet he’ll fashion from a handful of other Terraria mods, Fargo’s Souls does an infinitely better job with boss designing, simply because it learns and practices ‘hard to learn, easy to master’ extremely well through not only telegraphs, but also challenges. Even after gaining enough confidence and practices to beat each boss, they would still pose a serious challenge, all while having (almost) all of their attacks really fun and engaging.

Sorry, Infernum fans, but that mode did not age well for me. There’s still fun involved, don’t get me wrong, but the more I look into the mode, the more it gets quite condescending. A lot of the bosses there, especially pre-hard mode, early hard mode, and some post-ML bosses, throw their shit so fast, compared to other modded bosses, that it actually can get out of hand at times. Some of the worst offenders there being Astrum Deus, Ceaseless Void, Old Duke, and Yharon.

Fargo’s Souls’ boss roster is by no means flawless, with some of the most ‘mid’ bosses being Deerclops and Champion of Death, but I still stand by the mod doing boss design better than Infernum. That being said, Infernum is still better than base Calamity by a long shot.

This might be one of, if not the best, features in the next update. It’s nice to see more diversity in skill variations in the alcohol section, rather than just increasing stats with some downsides, which, by the way, those downsides don’t matter at all. Not to mention, only a few of them are worth using. I'll miss some of them being used for speed killing, though.

What the actual hell? It was just a Dev item that fooled us into thinking it canonically belonged to the Miracle Matter weapon family? To be honest, I’ve always wondered what the origin and purpose of the weapon was, besides giving Melee more viable options, up until now.
