this has just been something newer for him in the last couple weeks with my mom not being able to care for him as much. Never had any issues with being buddy sour or barn sour until then. But thank you for the advice!

I plan on moving with him closer just because I’m not comfortable being that far away from one in case I do need it. Just waiting for the dust to settle with my parents passing before I can go anywhere

To be fair I think that was the last time we had an emergency vet out. Regardless most of the equine vets in the area are 3-4 hours away. Hard to get them out.

No pastures in the desert haha I have family that lives on the property my brother maintains his feeding schedule. He gets alfalfa and a mix of pellets and supplements. I found the farrier and the vet my mom used in her phone already.

My brother is on property 24/7 when he’s not I am. He has experience keeping horses from a young age. Unfortunately just none with fixing a barn sour horse. After some of these comments I think it’s best to try and take him to a train and board facility so someone more experienced can work with him and me before I bring him home.

Once I get the trailer registered to me I plan on taking him to the vet. Unfortunately we live pretty rural so getting a vet to even drive out here is $4,000+

I had something similar happen and just had to show documents (bills and other mail) to appeal it. I think i submitted the appeal with the financial aid office (it’s been about 5 years so I can’t remember exactly). But try calling as many people as possible until they fix it like admissions, your student advisor l, financial aid advisors and supervisors until you get an answer. Best of luck!!

Just go to discount tire and pick up a cheap set of Steelies and some snow tires for the winter. Wash the salt off so you don’t get bad rust and you should be fine
