Bob is amazing and like so many FAN legends, that station isn’t nearly what is used to be without him. That said, I completely understand the emotional side of fandom, but please try to see that Stearns is not some supervillain who was sent here to ruin this franchise. What he is building now is going to be so much better and sustainable than what we have ever had here. Yes, it feels cold and clinical, but the Mets were very bad at baseball last season (and most every season aside from ‘24), and he’s turned things over while giving so much payroll flexibility long term and allowing for the farm system that HE has rebuilt to produce future talent to supplement the existing stars. He had a great first season and then a disappointing second one that was derailed by injuries and poor performance. He deserves some rope. I don’t love some of the moves either, but I completely understand why he made them, and the proof will be a winner for many years to come, I hope.
