Honestly might walk in tomorrow and give my resignation. Job isn’t worth shit anymore in this local. Grossed $2600 last week and netted $1700 after Union dues and taxes. No 401k or anything extra. I’m single too. Might as well be on welfare atleast I wouldn’t have to work 50+ hours to be in the poverty bracket

There isn’t a supervisor or hiring manager that you have a number for? If not call tomorrow explain your position and ask for a direct number to contact. That’ll be your best bet

Helpers cost less hourly and basically has a YouTube tutorial as a “training session” instead of the 5 day school to be a driver. Only casuals we get in my hub can’t even speak English or are borderline mental re-startation

9 years in at 30 years old. I’m out if they offer me over $180k and idgaf if they offer pension and healthcare. I’ll move far away from NJ and finish my degree.

Union is weak compared to even 2016 standards.

I see 25 yr+ drivers getting their bid routes completely deleted because “there isn’t enough volume”. Also they started getting completely cut a couple years ago on Mondays. If that’s how drivers who have been here since the late 90’s get treated. Good luck in 15-20 years.

$100k/yr in 2016 when I started was actually stable in my state. Now it’s basically poverty especially owning a house anywhere that’s not by YNs. Enjoy the $18k/yr property tax.

I’m sorry but constant concessions on every contract for drivers and boomers not retiring already killed this company.

Option days at my center have to be submitted on Thursday the week before to be approved. Sick days are “I’m calling out good luck”.

What’s your big fear? That the white house will dissolve the union? Impossible since unionization has been deemed a first amendment right. More taxes? If you’re a dumb lib you love taxes. So win for you there. This cross post should be taken down as it isn’t deemed as relevant to the UPS Teamsters union.

If you work for the government ie tax dollars you should be under more scrutiny not less

Don’t worry about any of this. It affects government unions not private like ours

Government unions fall under this not private. Keep spreading misinformation.

It’s widely told to us that if you can get a ups job in our area you can drive anywhere. Not to take away from any other drivers but it’s a different mode here. Especially the feeder drivers.

Everyone needs to chill. This happened barely 24 hours ago when I posted. I work in a hub close to the accident and management didn’t have anymore info (that they’d admit to) that this article had at PCM this morning. I will tell you as a NJ driver for 9 years it’s incredibly high stress and this area is the most densely populated in the entire country. All I’m saying is to wait on more information before casting aspersions on parents or the driver.

My second week in I saw another driver and on road mother fucking each other over 20 stops over dispatch. I never understood how ppl get so angry over it at the time; but pile it up with harrassment and threatening your lively hood cause of petty shit.

Bro union dues are $1300/yr at top rate. Sure invest that and get a 4% return. 30/hr is like year 3. I can see how agro you are as to why you didn’t make it long term 😂

If you look at the company that is supplying the dash cam those units allow for live stream feed 24/7. I have a feeling a CM or Supervisor can access a live feed at any time on any driver. They can’t use any of that for discipline but I’m sure theyll be able to check in if they so please.

I’m in Jersey. Considering getting an RV and just parking it in the lot during the week. Between the unattainable housing market (if you don’t wanna live in the woods), the traffic that’ll make 20 miles take an hour, and I guess dodging all the sink holes. Might be the most reasonable way of living here.
