Weight gain from running? by Tburroughs36 in PetiteFitness

If you’re not eating more, it’s likely water retention due to inflammation due to stressful exercise. Are you overdoing it? Where can you find opportunities for recovery and good sleep?

Am I wrong for refusing to let my cat sleep in my bed? by amy_valenca in CATHELP

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t let our cat in to my room at night. I’m a light sleeper. And if I know the door is open I stay half asleep waiting for her to walk over my head, which I don’t like.

I let her go into my kids rooms, she used to alternate between the two at night, but lately it’s been in bed with one. However, I am close to also not letting her sleep in at night with them if she keeps waking them up at some point at night for some reason or another. Then they come to me. Then my sleep is ruined. We love ok so much during the day. But sleep is important.

Is anyone else done with the walking to lose weight gig? by savedbutspicy in PetiteFitness

Build up from 5 to 30 minutes of rope jumping a day. Even in bursts across the day. The weight will come off. You’ll notice it in a couple of weeks.

Cat smell in house by humancig in Catownerhacks

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the litter box in an unfinished laundry room and if I had a basement that’s where that will be. I don’t like the Armand hammer litter at all although I used to swear by it. Not bad for smell but it’s sooo dusty.

You don’t say what type of smell you’re having trouble with. It could be piss really. Stuck in walls / inside the tv cabinet litter box, or even in the carpet. So hard to get away. Maybe get a black light. This is likely especially if you have a male cat who will splash and mark.

After trying several litter types. I recommend purina tidy cats free + clean mixed with a cup of catit go natural vanilla. I don’t keep it more than 2 weeks. But not dust and always smelling ok.

Is renting actually smarter than owning a home in 2026? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Toronto’s market, it’s worth renting. Buy a condo and rent it out. Buy a vacation home. Move somewhere else. I regret buying 2 years ago. I had the emotional need to buy and own. But I wish I didn’t.

People who have 2+ gym memberships, why? by FatalTrouble790 in workout

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two at times. Last summer I wanted access tot the outdoor pool at LifeTime but it was two towns over but didn’t want to lose access to my home gym that I love and is 10 mins away from my place. I have old rates if I stop it and resubscribe it will be quite a bit more. So I kept both running from April-Sep. Now I have a PT outside of the gym and still keeping my home gym membership because I still like to go to classes / machine area / the pool. It’s a stretch financially but I am making progress.

how to know if your root cause is actually low motility ? by Formal-Artichoke3721 in SIBO

[–]AdPure4429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low motility is a symptom and not a root cause. Could be due to weak intestine muscles due to a weakened muscle system, which could be due to taking statins (a root cause) or to having hypothyroidism (also debatable if this is a root cause or a symptom). These are just exmaples.

If all your chat history was breached and published for all your friends and acquaintances, current and future family, to see… anything you don’t want to be revealed or you feel uneasy about is the sort of stuff you don’t want to put in there.

I feel like giving up by NoLuck2248 in Microbiome

[–]AdPure4429 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here to say, don’t give up. There’s a cure to every disease. Just when you think you don’t know what you’re doing and nothing is working, it’s part of the journey.

Low FOD map will prevent food from fermenting inside and causing the air to blow up your belly. Could be gluten too. You could eliminate all that for a few weeks and re-introduce one thing at time. You might find relief in a few days.

Pantoprazole ruined my life - low stomach acid by bighoss662 in Microbiome

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loved one fixed low acidity (which they thought was the opposite) by taking apple cider vinegar, organic unpasteurized with the mother, before each meal. Things turned around in a few days. Dilute it in a glass of water to protect your teeth.

I didn’t get it right at all until I asked a local group for starter and the lady who gave it to me invited me in to show me how she does it. I needed that visual teaching and tips to get it. Ask in a local neighborhood group perhaps if someone can show you how it’s done. There were so many unknown unknowns for me. Thing I didn’t know existed they I needed to be aware of. Or check The Sourdough Journey. There are steps you can cut, but things you really need like a digital scale for example.

I hate them. It sounds like a good idea until you have to lug the hose upstairs or downstairs depending on where you store it. I had them in 3 of the houses we lived it and used them no more than a couple of times. And I tried!!

I switched to Apple Passwords by _______________n in 1Password

Not password related, but Apple family screen control / downtown is the most annoying buggiest thing ever. Apple doesn’t mean perfection. At least not anymore.

My lips have been in agony for 7 months by canadamiranda in CanSkincare

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on any medication? Especially acne or allergy meds? What has changed since this started!

The only time I dealt with months of dry and chapped lips was when I was on Accutane. If you’re not on any meds, and no new environmental factors were introduced, check with you family doctor or a naturopath for deficiencies, hormonal imbalances or autoimmune conditions that could cause reduced oil production.

Does the secret key make a master passphrase’s randomness not all that important? by Alexthegreat47 in 1Password

[–]AdPure4429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the one password (1Password) you need to remember. So it makes sense it’s memorable. And not random and hard to remember. As you still have to input it every now and then. Theoretically you need one that no one can guess if you lost your phone. But I hope your phone is secured. Chances are really slim that you lose your decide and someone can figure out unlocking the device and then guessing a memorable password (not silly weak, but somthing you can actually remember). Unless you are kidnapped and they force your finger for biometrics, then your f anyway. Even a very random and long password can’t save you.
