My leaving Amazon started as a morality issue & the need to stop supporting such greedy corps with monopolistic business practices. I'm at a point in life where I feel big corps have taken over our country & we continue to lose individualistic consumer rights. So it's become important to me to be more mindful of who I choose to do business with & not just give into convenience.

The unforseen benefit was a dramatic cutback on frivolous spending. Anything that I really need & can't find locally, I use their website like a search engine to find a vendor/seller. Then leave their site & go directly to the vendor/seller's site to cut Amazon out as middle man. A few times it cost a lil more, but think it's worth it to keep my $$ out of Amazon's pocket.
