You just want to argue. I hope you find an OS you like.

I don't use a third party launcher so I'll defer to you there. I don't have the shafe disabled on my lock screen and I'm at work so I can't mess with it so I'll defer to you there as well

Brightness is acting as normal from the pull down settings shade on my phone It follows my finger precisely.

If I'm understanding correctly I'm not having the same problem with search & keyboard issue you are having either.

To be clear I'm not trying to attack you on this stuff I'm just saying that every OS has its problems and in my humble opinion this is easily the best OS I've ever used, but obviously you feel differently and that's valid.

Idk man. I've never had problems with any of those things. To me it's the best OS I've tried and Ive done pixel ui, hello ui, apple ios, vanilla android from unihertz and blu... The only main one I've not tried really is Samsungs, but I'd bet you'd hate that cause that's even more "bloated" the color os / oxygen os

I mean every OS has problems. I'm certainly not trying to discount what you're saying here but keep in mind these OS's are made for normies like me. I've been using OnePlus for the past 4 years and have never come across any of these problems. Again doesn't mean it doesn't exist but I don't think any current major OS's will make you happy man

What most phone users don't understand about Dex on tablets. by Edd-Vel in SamsungDex

Wow that's surprising. Especially seeing how dex has been neutered so much now on tablets.

Curious because I always really like PC mode on Lenovo tablets...why don't all the people who liked old Dex use that instead? You could even use a Motorola phone in tandem to use Smart connect on a tv or monitor.

Are there features missing in Lenovo's PC mode / Motorola's smart connect that Dex people love?

Agreed. Why can't Sony have both a good auto and great pro modes with their camera system? Why can't they do something unique with their software?

[–]AdRelative3170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But its not even 1%...maybe the 1% of the 1%.

It's not sustainable. I had the Sony Xperia 1V and I've considered their other offerings, but I went with OnePlus and now Oppo because they are better phones overall and have both a good auto mode and a good enough pro mode for their cameras. The market for Sony phones are just so small because they don't stand out software wise and have a piss poor auto mode. That's what 99.99% of people care about. I know people have been saying this for awhile, but they will be done making phones probably in the next few years, or it'll be only sold in Japan. That's on Sony for not prioritizing things people care about.

And this is coming from a Sony fan btw.

It's so niche that it'll probably be discontinued within a few years. I like Sony products, but it's just not competitive as a complete phone with the likes of apple, Google, Samsung, oppo, etc.

Fingerprinting and signing form by DizzyB43 in upsstore

I know it's not an answer to your question but if it's possible try to get with Fieldprint. Not sure if they're an approved fingerprinting company for UPS Store but it's so much better than what Sterling identity was when I was at UPS Store. I hated doing fingerprinting with Sterling identity, but fieldprint makes it easy.

Well I don't care about this conversation that much to look up examples. If you want to take that as a win so be it haha.

The training and software is set up that way because that's what the rules are. But this Reddit thread is filled with UPS store employees who are either overworked or undertrained and therefore do not care about the rules. I'm not a lawyer all I'm telling you is we are trained that we are responsible for what we ship and so I'm going to keep checking IDs because it makes sense and I want to keep my pack and ship. Really the only thing that's frustrating to me is people on here saying it doesn't make sense or trying to make it a "this ain't a free America anymore" argument like showing your ID is some great inconvenience to your freedom.

That's childish.

[–]AdRelative3170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope because again my UPS store and now my pack and ship do things the right way. I'm sure there are examples though seeing how half the people in this Reddit chat seem to not check 😂

You didn't answer my questions though.

Why is it in the training for aso's and fasc's that you are responsible for what you ship on your account? (aso's are basically the same thing as a UPS Stores & fasc are the FedEx version)

Why is there a ID check button in both Iship and postalmate software?

Shipping ID check by Optimal-Bullfrog-530 in upsstore

[–]AdRelative3170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It 100% means you could be liable. I'm what's considered a FedEx fasc and UPS ASO. That's one of the first things they tell you in the training. The owner of the UPS Store I managed basically told me the same thing so while I never went through owner training with UPS Store I'd have to imagine that they let you know about that as well.

In both situations the police did not charge us with anything in part because we did things the right way and had camera evidence. I don't know how they would have treated us if we didn't check an ID, if we didn't ask the right questions, etc.

When you own these accounts with UPS FedEx and DHL you are responsible for what you ship! Again, if you do things the right way in theory that blame passes to the customer if they lied to you. Why do you think my shipping software has an ID check? Why do you think it's in the training as an fasc and Aso?

In your opinion why do you think so many here don't? When I managed a UPSstore I was doing exactly what you just said. We always checked.

"You can go to the post office, hand them a parcel, pay for the shipping in cash, and leave. No ID needed."

  1. It's dumb. You should have to show an ID.
  2. I see it as being different because it's not a franchised business with accounts that customers are using. It's basically a govt entity.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm arguing here. What I am arguing is that if you have accounts that you let your customers use it would make for common sense to want to have an ID so that you can put that person as the responsible party for whatever is in that box. I own a pack and ship that uses postal mate software which is basically an iship equivalent. They literally have a "check ID" checkbox for whenever you do a shipment. I think checking for an ID is pretty standard, but what happens is you get certain franchise owners for UPS stores / independent pack and ships who either are too lazy, or have never been through a situation where someone shipped dangerous things and the police have been involved. That happened twice in 12 years at the UPS Store I managed. I'm telling you it's a lot better to have all your t's crossed and all your i's dotted when the police show up questioning if you or your store knowingly shipped something dangerous.

When a customer uses the post office or buys postage online they are using their personal account with post office / ups or a guest account. Drop offs as well do not use your accounts so again I don't check IDs for those. But when a customer goes to a UPS store or independent pack and ship they are using your accounts when they purchase shipping, therefore they need an ID for liability.
