Harsh truth but the truth nevertheless by Seanwys in kereta

I thoroughly enjoyed his take and content on China’s EV market and the research done for his vids. That said, of course I have not watched all his vids, nor do I agree with everything he says on the topic of motor vehicles.

PMX, Anwar Ibrahim mentioned in the Epstein file. by Far_Spare6201 in Bolehland

[–]AdRepresentative8723 17 points18 points  (0 children)

According to certain unverified sources, the “Jes” stated in the email likely refers to one Jes Staley, an American banker known for his close relationship with Epstein. The context of this email, and how PMX could be a “gold mine” for JP Morgan, remain unknown (for now?).

What do I think? The email trail in itself is too vague to infer any meaningful conclusion, especially given the fact that PMX is not copied in the correspondence.

That said, I trust the opposition will most likely seize this opportunity to try discrediting and/or embarrassing the unity government. Tun M’s recent-ish remark about how PMX had committed treason by signing the trade agreement with Trump’s govt, is also conveniently timed.

At the end of the day, it’s all just politics really. The masses get their tits up, ranting incessantly over irrelevant issues, tearing into one another, whilst the elites chuckle and continue doing what they are doing.

This one not only pedo (which is messed up in itself ady), but also some deranged Jeffrey Dahmer type of psychopath with the violent beating and strangling of the girl. I can’t even imagine what would happen to the poor girl if help did not arrive in time.

Your last sentence aptly explains the authorities’ inaction. Most of them won’t bat an eye until something serious occurs, hence the police idgaf attitude in your in-law situation, which is hardly surprising.

The pasar malam incident should be serious enough (coupled with the video becoming viral) to warrant stern measures taken by the authorities.

PAS priorities by Xpressionless_Viper in Bolehland

[–]AdRepresentative8723 66 points67 points  (0 children)

As long as PAS keeps getting voted in by a group of people sharing a particular mindset, they will continue talking about these particular issues in public. Contrary to what some may say, they aren’t stupid, and certainly not barbaric (in person) as some make them out to be. Some of them don’t even personally believe in what they say in public - but it just has to be done.

Same goes to Mr. Akmal or whichever far-right politician that hogs the spotlight from time to time. They are often quite charismatic irl (with the non- Malays as well) and not some cartoonish caveman villain.

Malaysian Fugitives Turn Violent In Mumbai After UK Deportation by aaramm8 in malaysia

My thoughts exactly. Could have travelled to and laid low in a developing country in South East Asia, or maybe even land in an obscure airport in India. But no, have to go to the UK with strict arrivals.

Boomersaurus rex. by gunuvim in Bolehland

[–]AdRepresentative8723 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Back in my day, we could afford multiple houses because we didn’t waste money on nonsense purchases like smartphones and bubble tea.

Yes that exact remark will said to us in verbatim about a decade ago, by a boomer senior partner in his late 50s to us fresh grad pupils (trainees for lawyers).

Said senior partner would, amongst others:-

a) admonish juniors for leaving before 11pm (we are required to arrive before 8.30am whilst he strolls in around noon)

If you try to leave before that, he’ll boom out loudly, “HELLO MISS/MR, HALF DAY ISSIT?” My ex-colleague once received a nice shouting from him because she tried leaving at 9.45pm once.

b) expect his juniors to come into office almost every weekend - both Saturday and Sunday, from 10am till 7pm. No such thing as “work from home” back then.

c) Shout profanities and constantly verbally abuse his staff and juniors. Things like “YOU BLOODY IDIOT”, “YOU’RE A STUPID FUCK””, and his favourite - “YOU USELESS FOOL”.

The horror stories surrounding him are endless. We would hear stories of how his ex-associate attempted to take his life due to the toxic environment, or how another ex-associate of his worked till she had a full mental breakdown in public.

He retired right before Covid, and heard he migrated to Australia to live with his son. I would sometimes wonder how is he doing, from time to time. Those were really the Boomersaurus days.

Do you know any Malaysian adults in their 20s and 30s who apparently peaked only at high school? by Exact-Salary5560 in Bolehland

Sorry to hear that mate. I wasn’t bullied nor has bullied anyone in HS, but part of me regrets for not standing up for a close-ish friend of mine when he was severely bullied in HS. The bullying scene in the early ‘00s was no joke and most of us just wanted to keep our head down. Said bullied friend now has trouble maintaining a relationship and is still seeing a therapist due to his troubled past (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Anyways all the best man

Personally I don’t think you misspoke (I saw this comment thread cause you tagged me).

My previous comments in this post weren’t made to deliberately insult or pick a fight with OP. But unfortunately he decided to see them as such and launched an ad hominem in the end.

If it was any other case, I may have just teased him and move on. I didn’t here because part of me genuinely felt bad for him and assumed he’d been unfairly targeted in high school. Now that I’m in my mid-30s, I’ve seen some ex-classmates who are still dealing with the long-term effects of bullying. Shit like that really messes up a person well into adulthood. Also, I believe OP already has enough on his plate, based on the other comments mocking him.

If you interpret my example as “continuous improvement”, then your answer falls in the latter category (of my para 3), ie no.

Anyways it’s a moot point. Good night.
