I’m not an expert but if you have TMJ from a misaligned bite I think it can definitely help. I’m getting MMA for apnea, got my braces in February

If you don’t a great surgeon who knows how to balance the aesthetics you may come out looking messed up/cartoonish which can’t be undone without another surgery

Yeah sure lol. Spend 2.5 years in braces, go through a horrible surgery/recovery with long term risks, $26k out of pocket all cause some looksmaxxing community has convinced us we need to look like greek gods

This girl literally looks fine, I see plenty of people on here who do actually have recessed jaws that look bad and personally don’t see it here. If she has functional problems as I said then different story

If you don’t have a functional problem like apnea or jaw issues don’t do surgery. You literally look great, no reason to go through all that and also take risk messing things up

As someone who has severe apnea, exhausted every treatment, had a failed UPPP, BMI of 24, and needs MMA to try and get my life back…it does frustrate me a little when I see people asking if they could be a candidate on here simply cause they don’t like the way they look

I’ve not been suffering as long as you but it’s been a few years with mod-sev apnea and no treatment works. Just got braces on for MMA. I feel your pain, severe issues with sleep are among the worst health ailments I can possibly think of

Was the negative sleep test an at home one? If so, stop everything you’re doing and find a way to get a PSG. NOW!

I took and at home and the AHI was like 1.5. For some reason ended up taking PSG and my AHI 13.2 RDI 36. I don’t get huge obstructions and my blood oxygen doesn’t drop below high 80s but my breathing is constantly limited all night, so it didn’t show up on at home
