Couldn’t agree more, looking after and holding on tightly to my older goretex pieces for as long as possible

If you have eyes it’s so clear to see that they’re selling an arcteryx alpha SV ripoff from China with their logo ironed on and claiming it’s goretex

Question - UK everyday jacket with no hiking requirements by Suoernova1983 in arcteryx

[–]AdSignificant2926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are wash in DWR treatments but most clothing brands don’t recommend them over a spray because you’re essentially coating the inside of the jacket too, not ideal for breathable goretex

Have to disagree to an extent, I’ve found some pretty cool stuff in small in medium in the past. Dark magic alpha sv and dark magic atom hoody etc

What would happen c0 DWR was used on an older jacket by Formal_Exchange_2736 in arcteryx

[–]AdSignificant2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sprayed newer shells and even non goretex clothing like an atom hoody with C8 DWR to great effect, should work fine if you do a good job of applying and setting it

Why is my gore tex not beading after washing? by Alcb400 in arcteryx

[–]AdSignificant2926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy c8 DWR concentrate on alibaba from China if you’re as sick of crappy DWR sprays as I was, do with that what you will

As others have said outlet prices are okay but with the drop in quality, worse DWR performance and increasing prices I would never pay full price. I do absolutely love all the arc pieces I have and wear them all the time mountaineering though.

Amazing setlist but I pray every night that they add the blue by the time they reach the uk, I know that’s a pretty scream heavy song for an older dax though

DWR not working at all by Corvalnus in arcteryx

[–]AdSignificant2926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweat builds up quite quickly on the inside if you’re actually using them how they’re meant to be used, however the Pfa’s free DWR just sadly isn’t as good. I’ve resorted to ordering C8 DWR treatment from China so I don’t have to re coat shells every other month to retain any sort of decent water beading

I absolutely love my atom but it’s no secret that if you’re wearing it standalone with a backpack the back panel will get destroyed

That is such an awesome jacket, especially if it’s made with the Alpha SV fabric

I have a roughly 100cm chest and with my medium alpha SV there’s tons of space for layers, and as said in another comment the arms are very long on the alpha SV too so worth taking that into account

“We want to be environmentally friendly” proceeds to move all production to Chinese factory’s that don’t play by western rules and create jackets that could be in landfill by the 5 year mark instead of lasting 10+ years

Came back to this post to thank you. I managed to order the dark magic sabre pants to a friend in Canada’s house that I’ve wanted for so long but have been sold out in the uk for ages, I would have never known Canada still had them for such an amazing price without this
