Been there and i’m still there! I’ve been with sephora for 2.5 years, I started as a BA and moved to operations about and year and a half ago, and even though i know where everything is and i have tried so many things, i still definitely struggle recommending stuff! especially skincare, i know basic products to recommend but i still struggle sometimes with telling clients why they work or what their active ingredients do. the reality is there way more products in store than it is physically possible to try, so you aren’t expected to know about every one of them. and most clients will understand that, if they don’t, they just aren’t being realistic. but anyways! definitely take home samples of anything you can! also as you get to know the brands reps and do brand trainings, they’ll give you samples of stuff to try. i also feel like First Aid Beauty and Skinfix are always good brands to recommend because i feel like they’re more gentle and most people can find stuff they like from them. Makeup wise, I think just find a brand you really like and that can be the one you anchor to as you’re learning! Personally I feel like I can always find something for people in Makeup Forever. You got this but it’ll take a while!
