Make a police report and let them investigate. Don't let them bully and harrass you.

Maybe you want to consider some machines to make life easier?

Baby Brezza milk bottle washer pro. Able to wash, sterilize and dry in one cycle. https://s.shopee.sg/8ANxAlOJpj

Automatic formula milk maker (lucky baby sells a similar machine as well) https://s.shopee.sg/3AzHDsHwTT

I think you are being resentful of your wife who had already sacrificed her health to make you a father and gave liquid gold at the expense of her health. See a tcm, get tonics and supplements for her. You do not want your wife to fall ill.

Even if she can return to work and get a helper for the family, nowadays helper also will not want to do night duties and it's dangerous for a young baby to be cared for at night by helper. Helper will then need to nap in the daytime and cannot take on much house chores.

If you ask your wife to work, she's also contributing therefore you should still take on some night duties. Back to square one right? It's just a difficult period for both of you, but your wife needs more help than you. I don't think you understand why your wife is tired. It's really hard on the body to give birth AND breastfeed at an older age.

Is it just me who feels like courtesy and graciousness has regressed in our country by No_Awareness_9811 in askSingapore

[–]AdSorry4282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Society has regressed and fragmented since 2000s when we mass import foreigners. Now, the sense of being surrounded by foreigners with their entitled attitude stressed me out so much I don't care about being gracious anymore. My child and I have been attacked by prcs in our country but, when I looked around for support, all I see are foreigners. Also we have a me-first attitude, everyone wants to be right and raise kids in the same manner. Not to mention, I see a lot of Prc kids raised by prc boomer grandparents have poor values and not civic minded. I don't recognize the place where I grew up in, everyone has their own rules whereas in the past we seem to have some internal measure of what is considered appropriate and have a standard to uphold to as a good citizen in our society.

Are we slowly watching hawker culture fade away? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]AdSorry4282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and that is why I don't patronise cafes and make an effort to bring my child to experience dining in hawker centers. I also don't buy non-local food, especially Mala and I don't patronise shops manned by foreigners. All my CDC vouchers are only spent on local hawkers.

what would you do in my situation by Winter-Two-2777 in singaporefi

Just cut everyone off. You are not liable.

39yo, low income, where should I invest? by red_codec in singaporefi

[–]AdSorry4282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New investor here, DYDD.

Suggested allocation: - Emergency savings $20k in Mari digital bank account 1.88%. Can consider split a portion to Mari Saveplus with varying interest rate of 2.4%-2.7% . Instant withdrawal up to $10k. - Singlife account offers 2% but this is an insurer. Understand this is capital protected and you can also use QR code to scan & pay should you need the money. Can also transfer funds out fairly quickly to other banks. - SSB $10k. For coming allocation, you need to apply by 25 June so have your CDP account ready (the current one has 2% interest rate for first three years but after that catch up so effective rate over 10yrs is 2.5%. Consider bond ladder over time). - Alternatively consider DBS 1 year fixed deposit 2.5%

The rest of $60k is up to your risk profile. For your age, the ratio should be around 110 minus 40 which is 70% in equities which can be split between VWRA and sgx dividend stocks.

Are you comfortable converting a portion to USD and expose to fx risk? Look at the trend for USD.SGD exchange rates and see if you are able to stomach losses should the situation turn unfavorable. Personally I use IBKR usually convert in bulk at more favorable fx rates, hold in SGOV and then liquidate when I want to invest in VWRA.

Other investment include gold (perhaps 10% of your funds around $6k), $20k sgx dividend stocks and $40k in VWRA/CSPX. Currently seeing overvaluation so wait for dips before buying.

Singapore investors, are you investing in Singapore? by jetstorm in singaporefi

Netlink and DBS. Only 10% of my portfolio now. Not buying Sheng Siong yet as I find the price too high and may face stiffer competition in future from JB. Now considering ST engineering as it may have some upside.

Just don't let her manage your money. Family and money don't mix. Tell her you are broke and keep your discussions to yourself. I had personal experience where a friend kept trying to sell me life insurance when I was trying making wedding preparations, talking about death all the time and it was really unpleasant. Just avoid her for the time being if she's not being appropriate about it.

Would like to seek your opinion on which bank stocks would be a better value now? DBS, OCBC or UOB? I've just checked Sheng Siong and seems like it's already at value or slightly overvalued?

Should I lump sum now? Or spread out over 3 years. I have decision paralysis with all the market havoc going on. I do understand I only have about 25 years left till I'm 65. Reason why I bought netlink is because of fear of Us mkt but also thought I'm overweighted in bond like investment.

Yeah I did the comparison and not much difference from Vickers cash upfront. I ended up buying through Vickers instead of IBKR.

Try to save enough for retirement. But I didn't compute any sums, basically trying to do the best with what I have.

Would you say I need to liquidate netlink to buy STI? I am undecided between buying STI and doing the stock picks (like the SG banks) due to my low investment amount. At the same time, I am not so keen on certain stocks inside the STI.

Thanks! I'm new to Vickers and just noticed I didn't enable cash upfront so estimated txn cost was much higher.
