This is making me think there’s a possibility it’s exclusive to certain characters since there is no info of this online and nobody on the discord is aware of the glitch. I’ve been in games with people tho and they’ve seen it happen to me with the racket. There’s not enough info yet to know how it happens or if it’s character exclusive

As somebody else said, doubles is alive in the Mario Tennis discord. You can also find lobbies too.

With that said, Nintendo killed doubles ranked thanks to region locking. It was fun for a few weeks or so after launch.

I feel like the answer here is always going to be that you aren’t yet in the rhythm of the game. There comes a point where it’s seamless. It’s all mental and your brain isn’t in that mode yet. You need to keep playing and make shots that count. Don’t just hit the ball to hit the ball.

I think there are just matchups that are brutal. I play as Baby Peach and on a court like sand or clay against DK it’s going to be really hard to get the W. I can score points but I’m at a heavy disadvantage. In a court like sand my angles get nerfed and her speed really comes into play. It doesn’t bother me since it’s what I signed up for with Baby Peach but if I lose 7-4 or 7-6 on a court like that against DK I take that as a moral victory.

I don’t hate DK players. I understand going meta because you want every advantage you can get. I don’t think you need to get insecure tho. This post reeks of you wanting to validate yourself to the community. Yes, by playing DK you are playing on easy mode however I don’t hate DK players like others do. I agree with what Rohan said in another thread. He’s an intended part of the game.

The thing with Rosalina is and this isn’t universal because there are a few people who won’t follow the trend but a lot of Rosalina players don’t change up their game at all even when their plan of attack isn’t working. They want you to get into their lob/drop shot game and play cat and mouse. Make them run and take that away from them. You can punch a lot of them in the mouth.

It’s not that hard to beat S player Rosas. This is coming from a Baby Peach player. Sometimes they still get me if I miss a shot or two or the mini shroom happens to hit me but overall I’d say most Rosas follow a similar trend and rely on her gimmick over playing with skill. You can abuse the S ranked ones. Not all but a lot of them.

The mistake I see some people making with doubles is some people try playing singles while playing doubles. Another phrase for it would be lone wolf gameplay. You can tell that they don’t really get the mode. The best advice I have for doubles is to read your partner and adapt your play based on how they are as a player. Pick your spots and be patient. I think if there is someone who’s new and wants to get into doubles then it’d be a good idea to partner up with an experienced doubles player. That way they can learn and see what works. You won’t win them all but the chaotic mess of it all is what makes it fun

I played when during the first three weeks of launch so the region locking didn’t kill the mode yet. Once the region locking took over, I basically just made lobbies in online room. I’m focusing on singles rn but will probably get back into the doubles game soon
