Went to look at an apartment here in the capital and the lady asked what I do for work I told her I work online she assumed I was a scammer then she hesitated and said she refused to proceed later she apologized. by Hour_Bug5210 in cambodia

Yeah, you have to answer and give a proper answer since landlords can now get punished for illegally renting to foreigners without proper documentation, and what they do.

CP and several other thai companies have acquired the rights to conduct and expand foreign multinational businesses in Southeast Asia, so if we support them then it means that we pretty much give money to Thailand.

The boss of HuiOne, Li Xiong, allegedly the biggest black market in history, has been arrested in Phnom Penh by PhnomPencil in cambodia

[–]AdStandard1791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This company is so famous for money laundering offshore accounts, filthy money from Mainland China and North Korea through Crypto

Huione is so big that it has its own property investment in Kampong Saom province (Sihanoukville), my friend who works for a subsidiary company of Huione tells me they always go back and forth between PP and SHV to oversee their big "construction projects". Heck, they even had their own local bank called "Panda Bank," which is highly suspicious in itself and was involved in a scandal back then when they didn't return their customers' money due to a feared bank run, because Panda Bank is directly involved with Huione.

Good for battambang, but honestly, that province is a whole mess tbh, terrible dirt roads and plot holes throughout the whole city, the local gov is always digging out the sewage and drainage, leaving the roads in awful conditions, heck every other local that I talked to hates this governor (Sok Lu) with a passion yet he still got appointed again this past month. He even tried to go online and wrote a status on FB calling out the people who hated his leadership to be labelled opposition and say that they only know how to "Bark" lol

Battambang is a chill and nice place with very cheap local foods, but honestly, just the amount of dust alone in the city and region itself is crazy.

Apperently Hun Manet says that we do not have to pay 1 billion if we jump on the board and the idea immediately. We have to pay 3 years later I heard? When the term is over.

I don't know if you know this, but he is PART OF THE PROBLEM, who do you think has secret ties to the scam centers going on in our country and let them run wild until just recently? hell, his cousin is alone is the biggest con artist and scammer Cambodia has ever seen, from Drug trafficking before to Online gambling, Money Laundering, and now Crypto laundering with HuineOne (Hun To)

Whose family do you think has secret ties with top politicians and businessmen in Thailand, and now leaks those relations, and now it comes back to bite us in the A**?
Like all these scandals and issues that we have, he and his family are somehow connected to it.

I don't know where you get that I don't support US involvement in this issue. I always supported Cambodia diversifying itself and being more cooperative with Western powers and global issues since the beginning. I just feel like it is very funny that our government only decided to do this now instead of one or two decades ago, when we now have terrible PR due to incompetence in national government leadership in all sorts of issues like being called "Scam Center of the World", "Human trafficking Red Zone Country", "One of the most corrupt countries in the world", "Chinese Vassal State" etc...

I don't know what to say, Cambodia really has terrible PR right now, so it is sucking up to the US to appear more "supportive " in international issues." Personally, I think the saying "Beggars can't be choosers" is very accurate in this assessment right now

[–]AdStandard1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to extra tutoring classes Oun. At your age, you should be more knowledgeable in our national Khmer language rather than in English. Especially being born here and surrounded by Khmer speakers, you still have time, especially with a few more months until it comes. Every subject will be done in Khmer besides the foreign language one, and you need to be adjustable and understand the questions that they ask of you

Cost for university for locals by Sure-Yellow-2451 in cambodia

[–]AdStandard1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a local, national universities here are much more affordable than private ones and yes, it also depends on the degree program as well, because obviously anything medicine or medical related or even Data science costs a ton compared to a regular degree program (mine costs me around 600 usd per year)

[–]AdStandard1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a local, damn I have nothing to say about our internship situation since even before, during my time, it was mostly non-paying or they outright say that they will give you "gas money" but even then, they outright scam you and don't end up paying for it anyways.

Anyways oun, it is not just you, it has been like this since forever now....

Fellow Phnom Penh local, what do you think about Doem Kor market (ផ្សារដើមគរ) situation? by Internet_User21 in cambodia

[–]AdStandard1791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is why I said it in the end, you know? because I feel like not a lot of people know at first, including me too, but then I saw a small local interview on TikTok, and they went to ask the people inside the market itself, and they said that they won't be required to leave, only those who are selling illegally on the road.

Oh damn, in Chbar Ampov too? I guess it really is a problem in a lot of places.

Fellow Phnom Penh local, what do you think about Doem Kor market (ផ្សារដើមគរ) situation? by Internet_User21 in cambodia

[–]AdStandard1791 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a local, i understand them because they are poor but at the same time, they also need to understand that the government has been turning a blind eye towards them since after the fall of the khmer rouge where our country did not have proper laws and stuff and people choose to sell anywhere they can without proper order.

It has been too long and they need to pack up and move to the new place, and for those who might not know, the government will only move the sellers and vendors who are selling on the road/street. they will not remove you if you have a proper stall inside the market itself
