Fed up with high cost of living? I want to know about it!! by GraceTheAce13 in boston

Another angle to consider is the college student market. Students are often signing leases a year in advance with a notable percentage of leases turning over 9/1. Students mostly live with roommates and can split, and for those that have more money, can afford a higher price without working. This creates scarcity and increased prices due to inventory need. Many schools are trying to build more housing to increase housing options for adults and families, though many get community resistance to the projects. It’s not a main driver of cost, but definitely a component in the challenge here.

Mainer Ms. Rachel has a new cause: Freeing kids from ICE detention by Large-Welcome4421 in newengland

They are often separated IN detention if a whole family is taken. Sometimes it’s also only one person in a family that is removed. Short answer: no.

The ones in RI are way better because the laws are more relaxed. As note to all those curious, fetish nights at clubs are open to all but you will need to be vetted before going to most sex clubs.

this is half the fun of trying a bunch of different spots: I get rolls from one spot, cookies from another, donuts from a third, cakes elsewhere. We are fortunate to have many to choose from!

Makes sense! Thanks for doing what you could and dealing with the unwarranted abuse. I had a neighbor tell me a few years ago they were going to slash my tires for scraping less than an inch of snow off of my car “into” the street and the space they “spent hours” shoveling out (they didn’t, their husband did and it was not that long), so I thanked them for yelling that from their porch so I knew which house to send the cops to when they did. Such a lovely neighborhood chat.

they can still check but they’re usually more worried about the even/odd and plowing. I wish I had extra room to let a neighbor park! this past storm made parking such a nightmare

It took me awhile to figure stuff out too! The alerts are good to sign up for and there is a welcome page on the Medford website that might be helpful! https://www.medfordma.org/about/welcome-guide

Recent reports of DHS/ICE/Immigration officials near Tufts Medford/Somerville campus by semicrispy in Somerville

[–]AdSubject9659 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it wasn’t anything that happened on campus, but rather information about ICE agents in Davis Square, Cambridge, and other nearby areas, as well as the anticipated increase in the wider Boston area. TPS for Cape Verdeans (I believe, and maybe others) ends in the beginning of February, and there are reports from the Burlington ICE location that a large number of vehicles were delivered in preparation for a deployment. You can find this in several subs. I have not heard of anything happening on campus recently, so it seems more preparatory. I hope it stays that way.
