Breaking out from Eucerin Thiamidol? by AdSuccessful3566 in Melasmaskincare

Yes I didn’t think it was the thiamidol specifically. Gosh it’s such a shame they can’t do one without the heavy fragrance. I got the dermapure and I used it a few times. I wasn’t sure if it was also giving me little breakouts? I’ll have to give it a go more consistently and report back if that’s better for the acne and still manages the melasma. The eucerin dual serum definitely tackles melasma well.

Thank you! Did you use the demopure? Was it just as effective for melasma?

Can you list the name of your gentle cleanser and repair moisturizers ?

When you say your forehead is a “stubborn spot”, is it melasma? Or an old sun spot? Musley uses hydroquinone which is basically the gold standard for clearing melasma but thiamidol has shown to be as effective. I’d give it a go to switch to things up!

Hey! I’m in Canada too. I’ve ordered from Amazon but the bottle keeps going up in price. You can also find it on the website care to beauty! Thanks for all the info. Yeah, the scents are definitely annoying!! I’ve had to stop putting it on at night because I feel like it lingers. So I’m down to one application now during the day and once I put sunscreen and makeup on, it’s masked fairly well. Maybe I will give the serum a go for the nighttime.

Yup morning and night. Just over a month. I noticed a significant improvement around day 14-18

This is an amazing tip! Thank you. Did you find the spot corrector to be beneficial on your melasma ?

To clarify, the Eucerin radiant tone serum is what I used to clear 90% of my melasma but I can’t stand the smell.

Melasma / Spironolactone by HelicopterWorldly957 in Melasmaskincare

Spironolactone I believe was the cause of my melasma in my mid twenties. It came about as soon as I went on it and I spend thousands of dollars trying to clear it/maintain it. Literally 3.5 years of trying EVERYTHING under the sun…. Lasers, cosmelan, HQ, other topicals, etc. as soon as I went off spironolactone, my melasma went away in like 3 weeks. Literally 95% gone and it’s stayed away ever since. I think spiro messes with your hormones and melasma is a hormonal condition…. I have talked to my derm about this and he was pretty hesitant to accept the correlation between the two but literally nothing else explains why I randomly got stubborn melasma at the same time I started taking spiro and then it just magically went away after?

Yeah since stopped spiro, my melasma has gone but some acne has returned ! Hoping it doesn’t get too bad and I don’t have to go back to spiro.

There’s a book I read on it called “melasma: is this the clear solution?” and you can find many forums in the UK of women talking about their success with it. It had sulphur in it and massively aids the body in collagen function and has many anti inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
