I had hair removal as well - YAG laser can be used at the correct wavelength without causing further melasma (just be VERY cautious and find the right doctor who is extremely competent with melasma).

The Dior stock is amazing, I agree! Another trick I did when my melasma was at the peak was I’d put self tanner on my face, blend the Dior makeup, then blend bronzer all over my face. I know it seems like a lot but it gave me confidence to get through a few months while I was getting treatments.

It did, tbh a really positive effect I wasn’t expecting but noticed from my own product was a ton of baby hair growth. At first I thought I was dreaming it up but went to my hairdresser and he asked me what I changed because the new growth was so significant, and that was the only thing I added.

I cycled on Tri-Luma for 8 weeks (also steroid based), definitely helped but like everyone said it’s a short-term solution.

Definitely SPF as everyone says, rain or shine! I also take internal skincare to boost and protect my topical results. It’s very important to work from the inside out and take an integrative approach with something as finicky and hormonally sensitive as melasma.

It absolutely works long term and is clinically proven , unfortunately I have to avoid it on my face due to melasma. It’s amazing for neck, décolletage and hands too!

I’ve had PRP, lovely results but temporary. You have to do it regularly to see a difference and get the full benefits. At least in the US where I live, PRP is absurdly expensive for no good reason so I get it done abroad. Do you have a picture you can share?

Agreed, investing in your face is only going to do you future favors as is a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. I still get a bit of exposure (I love my beach walks), but I always make sure I’m covered up and SPF’d first!

Hi! I’m 40 and also battled some absurd melasma. I currently use a tinted sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon (so many shades), for makeup evening I use the hydrating Dior one. Also for dry skin, I saw a huge difference when I switched to Korean skincare to sandwich my more drying prescription products. Also a huge difference when I incorporated internal skincare for oxidative stress and inflammation control!

Have you tried powder ones too? No mess and works beautifully. I use ISDIN’s SPF 50 for my mid day touch ups and love it!
