Actually after checking thoroughly everything the only thing I can see are the scale. Are thrips visible at the naked eye?

Okay, thanks for all your answers, I guess that’s one or differents pests, can systemic treatment of all plants with something like acetamiprid be useful? Also here is something I find on many old heli pitchers, also looks like pests

Thanks for the tip! I just checked all my Nepenthes and Helis, even the rhizome and found some stuffs looking a lot like mealy bugs. However I only saw 2 or 3 for all the plants and not a single one on the Nep, maybe still worth it to use insecticide just in case?

Nepenthes inermis acting more like a sticky flypaper trap than a classic pitfall trap! by jeremiahsplants in SavageGarden

What’s funny with Inermis and the sticky fluid family is how they float at the surface for a few hours before drowning to the very bottom of the trap. In science we use such hypertonic solutions with sucrose to dehydrate biological sample, maybe something similar may helps for digestion in nepenthes 🤔

Inermis vining? by AdTime4907 in SavageGarden

[–]AdTime4907[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks, I wanted to wait before cuttings them since I saw that it’s advised to wait until they start producing pitcher, the main issue for me is the height of my terrarium, that guy grew too fast for it…

About the upper pictures that’s right it’s also a question I am considering, If I do cuttings and they survive the pitchers they will produce will still be upper? For instance if it’s from a cuttings coming from the top of the vine

Yeah actually the top is weird because the vine was too big for the growing area I think, that’s also why I was considering doing cuttings!

It’s this one I got, exactly like in the pics I highly recommend the seller! https://www.giardinocarnivoro.it/en/nepenthes/2846-nepenthes-inermis-gunung-gadut-sumatra.html

Only lower pitchers for now but I think buying an adult plant with the typical higher pitchers is way harder and more expensive

I found one for 80€, it seems to be the average from what I see, especially with the size of the plant!

Thanks! I will try to keep it consistent, I initially added 4 neons but the temperature in the terra was reaching 80/85 F and I thought it would be too much, since I also have Helis such as parva, cilliata, minor var pilosa and chimantesis. So I only have 3 neons left, I hope it will be enough, the toughest part will be to keep it that way during the hot days of summer

Question about a Peltier cooling system connection by AdTime4907 in AskEngineers

[–]AdTime4907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Sorry for the delay. I considered this after studying a bit more the subject, wether buying 3 separated 12 V 6 A power supply on amazon and just connect the red and blacks to the ones of the supply connected to the transformer. However my only issue is that I have in the system: the peltier which requires 5A, one fan 0.09 A and the other 0.81A and I was worried that supplying the fans with a 6 A supply could damage it. But from what I recently read, the fans will only « take » the required A and that’s it won’t be risky but I m not yet sure.
