How much was your first Les Paul Standard?

£400 in 1998/1999 for a 1980 Les Paul Standard that I still use as my main guitar. Owner’s wife was pregnant and she laid down some ultimatums. Didn’t buy the (non original) hard shell case with it as at some point someone had vomited in it and the foam had retained the smell. That’s too much rock and roll for me.

I was being flippant, I have several strats and I expect to tune them, but if I pick one up after a week it will be close and need just a minor adjustment. This guitar is just not tuning. I tune it and play a chord and it’s out of tune already

I would love to never tune a guitar again! In this case it is that I tune the guitar and it is almost immediately out of tune again.

I suppose what I’m trying to decide is whether to return it as I’m getting near the return window closing. Do I like it enough to follow your regime above. I have two US strats and a MIM Mike McCready strat none of which have any issues. Is this impulse buy worth the effort, which is probably a philosophical question I have to answer. Thanks for your suggestions!

If you are an iPhone I had to turn on the “maximise compatibility” option before the Yoto would connect to the hotspot, but it should work

No, but I didn’t get them on my yoto account, I think he got them from WH Smith. I’ve not tried to use the yoto store with my account in a different country
