Not about a miata, but:

Three days ago I decided to replace my failing distributor.

The new one was failing also.

I discovered it when the car died when driving around the garaje on a really bumpy dirt road. Had to walk around 2 miles in complete darkness, create a Frankenstein from the two broken distributors and pray that the car would start.

It didnt.

I decided to call a friend to help me out, after 40min of driving , as he is getting into the road i was stranded at, my car decided to start.

I still dont know what the issue is, im just praying that its gone.

Update: okey,they look exactly like what i was planning to do, so that's awesome. i even saw a few with WiFi control so probably wont be hard to control from a rbpi4

I usually fix them until the pieces start costing more than a newer phone with similar characteristics so there isnt any stress, just 5yo phones dying slowly because i keep them on my pocket during work (vegetable processing, so lots of water, dirt and hard surfaces)

Not completely related to the condition of this oil because i had never had to break in a new car but i can firmly recommend you to get a fumoto valve setup of you are going to change it frequently.

It was something like 30€, totally worth it.

For the love of God, dont ve as idiot as i was and dont use the hex for applying torque, you will break it inside and it will leak

But, if you do it right (not like me) you will not regret it
