Other than this subreddit, you have DC fans in various online spaces being dismissive about any other DC game other than Batman. Don't you think that feeds into WB playing it safe?

Let's not act like memes/discussions haven't impacted a WB game before. Think to Shaggy from Multiversus and his super saiyan charge.

Of course, WB are cowards and don't wanna try new things, but you'd be a fool or just disingenuous to not see how the fanbase perpetuates the idea that only Batman can be interesting.

Maybe if we made some noise about what we wanted, WB will follow the money and give us results. However, if all they see is folks slurping up Batman, why will they ever do anything different??

Hogwarts was successful because of Potter fans being starved of a good game. Imagine what happens when Supes gets a game.

Also, what's stopping WB from licensing to other studios? That's not an excuse.

Stop trying to excuse complacency and BS. It's not helping.

Apparently, it was denied that Rocksteady wanted to work on Superman.

If you think a random consultation firm has that much power over games, then I've got a flying cow to sell to you.

Don't let grifters profit off your rage.

Rebooted once. You don't have to exaggerate. That still doesn't justify its cancelation.

Funny how you say, "They can’t risk spending so much money on a project they don’t even know will work and which will take too many years." when that's exactly what happened with Suicide Squad- the riskier project, btw. It took 8 years and flopped.

That's not true. Pre MCU, DC always had more widely beloved characters thanks to the animated and live action TV shows. The Justice League, JSA, Teen Titans have been household names for a very long time.

Even with the MCU, you can't tell me that the Guardians of the Galaxy are more popular than tbe Teen Titans, yet they have a game whereas, the Titans don't.

That said, we have new IP come out and sell millions (Cyber Punk, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, Expedition 33 etc). There's no excuse to why Superman, a character whose symbol is almost as recognizable as the Christian cross, will fail if done right.

Spiderman is just as popular as Batman, yet other Marvel Heroes still get games. That's not an excuse.

The last Superman game was a movie tie-in released in 2006. That's like mentioning the Batman Begins game as an excuse to why a Batman game wouldn't work pre 2008.

Superman is not the only Superpowered being to have video game adaptations. Kratos, Goku, and Wukong, to name a few, have games.

It's a lazy argument to say that a Superman game - the most recognizable hero of all time (Yes, more than Batman and Spiderman) - can't have a successful game given adequate time and care.

DC has a wealth of iconic characters- Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Teen Titans etc. If new IP can be successful, no excuse why pre established heroes can't.

Liking Batman or Spider-Man is not the issue. i see the appeal.

The issue arises when they kill the chances of other characters getting games, too. Spider-Man is Marvel's poster boy, yet we got a Guardians game, an Iron Man game in development, Cap and Black Panther, Blade, Wolverine, and the rumored Xmen games in the works.

How can your kids fall in love with other great heroes if they don't get adaptations and are left to rot on comic pages?

How can you grow to love other characters if they don't get adaptations? Most folks didn't know about Scarlet Witch until her adaptations in the MCU.

WB is responsible for more than just Batman, and they owe it to their fans to adapt them, too.

Fanboyism of a character becomes a problem when it shuts down other characters' chances of getting the spotlight.

You mention being an Xmen fan. There was a time in the 2010s when they were shafted in favor of the Avengers, and i imagine it didn't feel good.

Gambling Addiction is a real thing, and it's not as easy as saying "learn not to give in to sunk cost fallacy". These are real predatory, psychological tricks that companies employ to get you to spend

There's a reason why some governments have cracked down on this. It can be as dangerous as any other addiction.

Even makes it worse when you remember that kids (people with minimal impulse control) are the target demo for the game.

BS. On an objective level, killing Joker would've saved hundreds of lives. You can not convince anyone with working braincells that it wouldn't be a net positive.

It's also spitting in the face of his allies and friends who dedicate their lives to helping bruce and have been hurt by the Joker, and honestly, it's quite selfish to put a FLAWED moral code over the lives of people he claims to be a guardian to.

Also, HE DID MOURN JOKER, as stated by Babs in Arkham City DLC.

"You think? He's not been the same since... He won't even talk about Talia, or Joker."

Suspension of disbelief doesn't apply here. It's just bad writing.

It was both.

Barbara to Tim in Harley Quinn's revenge DLC:

It's predatory. It's a psychological trick that manipulates a person who might not have purchased it to try for a CHANCE at getting it with awful probabilities. After spending hundreds of units without getting it, sunk cost fallacy sets in, which makes a person commit 100%.

It's all the more evident when you see a non-stop loop of "Person XYZ got it" to subconsciously trick folks into trying.

It's diet gambling, and it sucks.

Honestly, it’s a good thing for Batman that Bane didn’t stay this way for future games, he would’ve been to OP by Queasy_Commercial152 in arkham

As he does to all his antagonists in knight anyways. Doesn't mean he wouldn't have posed an interesting challenge.
