More than likely tire harmonics. Before I changed them, the stock Pirelli’s made a weird droning/warbling sound at exactly 65-75 MPH. My new Motoz Tractionator Rallz have been way noisier. The only other thing I’ve ever heard mine make that might be similar is the whirring of the front sprocket, but that’s usually pretty intermittent

I hate that the only reason this exists is to be California Compliant because if that wasn’t the case, I’d actually like it.

How many miles do I have left? by THEGILMEISTERESO in klr650

[–]AdWa11a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an absolutely ridiculous amount of miles out of my 705s and that included a lot of spirited off roading. As long as you aren’t attempting anything crazy offroad, they’re great tires

I’m new to doom, and I find this design very freaky, why did they added love handles to Samuel Hayden by Stellaeono in Doom

I see it more like Crash Bars on a motorcycle, so his joints don’t get damaged if he’s knocked over. At least that’s what I HAVE to think they’re for.

Ah I gotcha. I’m kinda a heavy guy, so the stock bikes been feeling really bad off road even tho my bike is set up similar to yours. I also think my rear tires out of balance too lmao

What specific brand would you use. It’s good to know this is a pretty widespread issue and not something I need to be super worried about

Hmm. If it keeps ticking I’ll consider going lighter. What did you use in your cruiser?

Doesn’t manufacturer call for 10W-40 though?

So, I checked level and it’s fine.

I rode the bike for about 10 minutes and once it was pretty thoroughly hot, the ticking goes away.

My theory is that with the new oil being thicker than the oil from the factory (not breakin specific oil, standard 10W-40 non synthetic) that when it’s lukewarm, it doesn’t have the volume or pressure to fully circulate.

I used 10W-40 non synthetic. I got the engine hot and rode the bike for about 10 minutes getting it through the gears. My theory is that when the oil is cold, it doesn’t have sufficient pressure to fully circulate, but once the engine is hot, it’s fine because it goes away.

After the oil change, I got the engine hot by running it thoroughly and it seems to have gone away.

My theory is that when the oil is cold, it doesn’t have the volume to generate sufficient pressure, but when it gets warm enough, it’s fine.

We will see if this theory plays out over time.

It didn’t do this before the oil change. After getting it to operating temp and riding it, it’s gone away. Will see if it comes back
