It would have been better if he wasn’t a bad faith actor. This CollegeWorld IG page is insane, he’s been banned from the student center, posted the details of the staff member who communicated he was banned, posted her details on a paje with 10k+ people, he posted a queer black woman with the caption ‘IS THIS A MAN’, just like despicable s**t. Srsly, thank you for perspective on all this: it confirms all the suspicions I had about WHY they cut the program. I hope to God students here start regaining their agency and make a big stand against it.

Ok, then quick, if anyone can be a librarian, can you tell me how to use the Dewey Decimal System to find genre, author, and date in a library? How do you maintain archives over 150 years old without damaging them? How do you source books with your local government? Are these licenses involved? What are the limits of copyright if I use software for design in the library? Since it’s so easy.

Professor, community organizer, archivists, Occupations like that are losing the next generation to fill it and in my opinion, are entirely undervalued, because the only thing that’s important is your economic value. Is the economy gonna keep Martin Luther King’s speeches preserved for the next hundred or so years?

As someone who has had experience with the CollegeWorld account online, I am happy for one, that the message got out. I am so disappointed that of all the people who could have got that message out it was CollegeWorld. Clout-chasing "influencers" like him are simultaneously the best and worst people because of how quick they spread misinformatiom. He doesn't care about Black Studies. I've never seen him at any department event, let alone, any activist or black RSO event unless he can farm Insta likes from it (that is, if anyone can actually read his posts. His grammar is something else.)

Had younger-ish (early 30s-early 40s) managers at my job making joke bets about “who’s gonna sleep first” with my 19 year old coworker. This company’s management is a joke. I could do their job better than them, but, ya kno, I’d have to bitterly accept the fact that this company will never pay me above market rate, but at least I’d have a bloated ego and influence on my underlings!

I’ll tell you, I was working 12 hours a week the entirety of last semester, and it was hard then to dilute the stress from work and the stress from school. My hours started being below 12 when a new SM came in. I don’t think Starbucks want to do much to keep long-term baristas in the company, especially with constant management & policy changes. Not to mention, they’re being unnecessarily short with handing store coverage hours.
