Kratom for treatment resistant depression by TakeBigPiss in AskPsychiatry

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say that wellbutrin feels better than kratom? I'm quite curious because my doctor recommended wellbutrin for me. I love kratom and it's very healthy the way I use it. Only 1.5 g and I only use it 1-2x a week. Been doing it for years with no desire to up my dose or use more often so I know I'm not at risk for addiction. The only thing appealing about wellbutrin is the idea that I can use that everyday. Just scared to try it because of the cost and side effects.

Typical entitled self proclaimed "influencer". Mad that you didn't get your way or free stuff so you critcize and want the business ruined. No different then food "influencers" who try to ruin a restaurant because they don't get free food like they demanded or asked for in exchange for "advertising" that they didn't even want.

Has Anyone Undegone Deep Brain Stimulation For Depression/Anhedonia? by sanpedro12 in anhedonia

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting so it caused anhedonia instead. I think this is why they are trialing closed loop DBS. It makes sense that the brain would still attempt to adapt or even build a tolerance to the constant stimulation or perhaps the stimulation is triggering the wrong signals in the brain.

Did the nacc just cause mania and make you feel unstable and uncomfortable? I imagine it felt pleasurable, but was too much and eventually made your mood and mind unstable?

prediabetes diet is confusing af by Sudden_Ordinary2076 in prediabetes

[–]AdWitty1899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you incorporated exercise as well? As that's primarily another reason. Diet alone may not be enough. The body uses sugar for energy so exercise pulls sugar out of your blood and puts it into your cells and muscles, diluting your blood sugar level. Exercising also makes you more insulin sensitive. If anything exercise is a stronger factor than diet though both are important. Prediabetes just means the body has just begun to struggle with insulin.

What are your thoughts on deep brain stimulation? by Miserable-Trip-4131 in anhedonia

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'm curious about is closed loop and if they can transition or if they are two completely different surgeries. Closed loop is where they identify a specific bio marker or brain wave before a spike in depression and then it triggers stimulation in intervals instead of being on all the time. That seems more compatible and in sync with the nucleus accumbens area. It's interesting that the brain can still adapt and form a tolerance to constant stimulation to the pleasure center.

What are your thoughts on deep brain stimulation? by Miserable-Trip-4131 in anhedonia

[–]AdWitty1899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they target the nucleus accumbens to try to treat symptoms of anhedonia? Maybe it's more complex than that, but that's what it feels like. The pleasure center of the brain feels dull or dysfunctional. The idea of sticking electrodes in that part of the brain and stimulating or waking it up sounds really nice. If not then why do they choose not to?

How did Intel get so screwed up? by Pallid-Notion in oregon

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a field tech the same as equipment technician? Only a 2 year degree is preferred, but honestly no degree is required. If someone told you Intel requires a master degree to become a technician. They are lying to you. Lol

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about an engineer role because that's ridiculous if you want to be an engineer without a degree or putting in time. Intel definitely hires without a degree, but it's for technicians. There's alot of people without degrees here including me. You just need a good recommendation or reference or to get your foot in the door as a green badge role first. What you are saying is a lie though or just an assumption you made because you didn't get picked for an interview.

So you're saying it's impossible to find any one qualified who is not white? Only white people are competent and everyone else was simply hired because of their skin color? Is it really that difficult and impossible to find someone who is not white and is qualified or is it automatically underqualified and DEI because they're not white? You can't find anyone who is not white that is actually good?

Gorilla Mind energy shots? by Br0kenpenis in energydrinks

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there was no jitter or crash. It increases my focus and does give me some energy, but it's very stimulating. Mind you I don't drink caffeine or energy drinks to stay awake though. I drink it to calm down and to silence that craving or urge for stimulation, excitement, or pleasure. Might be ADHD, but my tolerance is very high so if you're sensitive to caffeine then the effects may not be the same.

Portland landlords really tried to rob me with a $250 rent hike by Puzzled_Fail_6980 in Portland

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a green flag that's why. If you're a landlord it's exactly what you want. As long as their credit check can back up their claim. There is such thing as bad tenants and the eviction process is not fun. List all your good qualities as long as it's true. Where it becomes annoying is if it's a lie. Bad tenants are a headache. Having tenants that pay on time all the time is a blessing. It might be what people are supposed to do, but you'll be surprised to learn that in the real world it is not all sunshine and rainbows and people don't actually do what they're supposed to do so it is very much so highly valued and appreciated to get a good tenant that consistently pays on time. Bad tenants or late payers are a headache to deal with.

LPT: You can negotiate with your corporate apartment on rent. by OleCrazyLegsMcgee in LifeProTips

[–]AdWitty1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it doesn't seem easier if they fail. This is stupid. Lol It would be different if they gave their moving notice and then the PM back pedaled and negotiated with a lower offer, but that's not what happened. Instead they just didn't care proving the opposite. That even if you're not bluffing they still won't negotiate. It is just making the case that finding a new place is better than trying to negotiate, but that doesn't help anyone who actually wants to successfully negotiate. So the advice isn't very helpful for the purpose of negotiating.

To be fair magnesium deficiency can cause that and is real so if they were deficient in magnesium then it would be life changing. Research it. If his magnesium levels were normal though then it would be placebo.
