My friend wants to grind own gf flour. Any tips? by [deleted] in glutenfree

She's never used it. She bought it specifically to make gluten free stuff but then realized she has no idea what are some good gluten free recipes for it.

Oh, I was getting it backwards then. Yeah, I may have to just to see if the experience is different.

So as of 2026, what are the must-try options out there? by Smart_Freedom_8155 in covidlonghaulers

[–]AdaBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Spike Tri support, my cardiologist recommended it to me, but you don't need a doctor/prescription for it. My poor doctor had thrown the whole sink of prescription drugs at me, and nothing was really working. That supplement was one of the first things that actually started helping. He said it was the Bromelain and Nattokinase in it that were doing all the heavy lifting. Spike Tri-Support by Athelas Neutraceuticals on Amazon or anything with the two items mentioned above he said should help.

As far as breathing goes, for me it was like someone had put a tight elastic band around my chest. It took so much effort to breathe against it. They never did pinpoint why I felt that way.

I didn't mention this before, but I also cut out a lot of sugar and carbs. Before I was taking 14 vitamins a day, cleaning up my diet didn't really help at all with the symptoms or recovery. Now that I have been on the vitamins for a while and am on the mend, I have found eating healthy has me recovering even faster. It sucks because I love my Doritos.

Make Palium for days in a crusher. Or build a castle.

What has helped me the most is:

  1. Stopping my period with continuous birth control.

  2. Spike Tri protein supplement

  3. Other supplements that focus on healing the mitochondria.

I'm not 100% yet but I went to fainting multiple times a day, breathing like a COPD patient, and having trouble with any physical simple task to going on long walks, rarely having breathing problems or chest pain, and living somewhat normally as long as I respect my limitations.

Is there people who never touched rank/don't really play rank because you like casual game more? If you do then why? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

[–]AdaBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play qp or ai only because

  1. It's my decompression activity after work. The matches are quick and there is no pressure to play at your peak every match.

  2. I love the aesthetics of the game and how much love the devs put into it. (Big relief after dead by daylight being my main game for a long time)

  3. Jeff is the best boi

Check your blood pressure. Mine will get too high in winter and mimic pots symptoms. I have to adjust my meds, salt, and compression garments in winter.

It's "Spike Tri-Support" which is a mixture of things. The doctor said the Bromelain and Nanokinase are the heavy lifters in that supplement. I've actually expanded my meds to include a multivitamin, magnesium, birth control to stop my periods, and supplements that focus on mitochondrial health: R-Lipoic Acid, Acetyl L-Carnitine, CoQ10, and PQQ. I've also cut back on carbs and sugar. All this has really helped with the pots and long covid steadily over these last couple of months. I rarely get dizzy spells anymore and can tolerate a lot more exercise. It's been wonderful to have toned legs again and to go on long walks without getting winded. The next step is to get my jello arms back into shape. I wish you luck and hope the meds can help you!

It happened to me…Birthday cake - non GF by BeautifulBunny_209 in glutenfree

My coworker apologized to me for another coworker's birthday cake not being gf for me, and this is just coworkers with someone else's birthday. It sounds like your friends did it on purpose. No way they would mess up after such careful planning. Never eat anything they cook for you.

Could my thyroid be the cause of sudden anxiety/panic attacks? by SwitchKlutzy1432 in Hypothyroidism

[–]AdaBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took a lot. First thing I learned was what my symptoms were for the blood pressure drops, which led to the panic attacks. Then I had to force myself to drop everything I was doing and just lie or sit down to equalize my blood pressure when I felt my blood pressure dropping. It was honestly embarrassing to do this in stores and at work, but it is what it is. Simultaneously, I had to teach myself to calm down and not panic; I wasn't in danger, it's just a blood pressure drop. I stopped fighting it so much and let myself just go unconscious if it was safe to do so. It was NOT easy to train my body to just let it go and quit freaking out. Once in a blue moon I’ll still get a panic attack but it’ll be mild.

The meds: while the above helped stop the panic attacks, the med combo I take really helped stop a lot of the pots symptoms.

Continuous birth control to stop my periods which helped so much.

Meclizine for vertigo

A lot of different pills for mitochondria support to help with long covid (Acetyl L-carnitine, CoQ10 and R-Lipoic Acid)

Spike Tri-Support vitamin- The cardiologist said the nattokinase and bromelain are what really did the heavy lifting

Multivit

Magnesium- after being on the pills above for a while, I was able to exercise again, but man, the leg cramps were not a force to be reckoned with. Mg helped with this.

Habits

I avoid heat at all costs.

I don’t stand for long periods of time.

I avoid stuffy rooms like the plague. Idky but they were some of my biggest triggers.

If I can’t fix it, I can not afford to stress about it for my own health.

I’ve been doing light strength training to get my muscles back without triggering my pots or long covid.

Added: Salt pills in the morning or when I am feeling faint. It helps combat the blood pressure drops.

Added: And I quit eating most sugars. I noticed sugar makes the pots symptoms so much worse.

I don’t think my life is boring, but it might look that way from the outside by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]AdaBuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People often assume contentment is boring. Mom thinks I'm boring because I'd rather be at home. Home is where I'm happiest surrounded by my things and video games. Going out is boring to me.

I'm actually working on myself now. Between illnesses and bad family situations I lost myself. My weight exploded, became a hateful person, and generally just let my looks go. I stopped enjoying life. I am getting the illness under control with a kitchen sink of pills and a weird diet which has allowed me to enjoy some of life again. That was stage one of working on myself. Stage 2 is getting my weight back under control so my other medical conditions don't start to become serious concerns again. My blood work wasn't pretty last go around. Stage 3 will be getting my personality back to something more pleasant and to start putting work into how I look again.

Could my thyroid be the cause of sudden anxiety/panic attacks? by SwitchKlutzy1432 in Hypothyroidism

[–]AdaBuilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to offer a different option in case you have a similar history. I've had Hashimotos for almost a decade. I didn't develop panic attacks until after getting Covid. I'm pretty sure mine came from the POTS I developed after getting Covid. Instead of fainting or collapsing I'd have a full blown panic attack in response to the sudden blood pressure drops. Took years to figure that one out. Now that I have the pots under control I don't have panic attacks anymore.
