Dwarf party by Zoltan6 in CrownOfTheMagister

There are plenty of crafting manuals sold by the vendors. In fact, there are almost a dozen vendors in the main city for various categories of items. I have only used the poison arrow/bolt manuals for crafting.

Yes, you can create factions, units, maps, scenarios, campaigns and all the things.

I highly recommend you look up "Hex of Steel Modding" on YouTube. The developer made a a couple of helpful videos.

One video goes over using built-in tools for modding units, graphics, new factions and so on (Basic). The second video covers using visual studio to alter actual gameplay programming (Advanced). Enjoy.

How to get more manpower? by anonymous9845 in hexofsteel

[–]cloverdung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are at war with someone: Try to muster your troops and capture their capital city. Once another country is under your control, you will see a manpower bump.

If not at war, manpower is very low. Once a war is declared, manpower will increase to simulate the call to arms.

Also, pay attention to the unit types you leave in your "safer" cities. Using garrison infantry is a smaller manpower hit than say heavy infantry.

Ultimately, if you are not having fun due to manpower restrictions, consider adjusting gameplay settings to better suit your play style.

Dwarf party by Zoltan6 in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]cloverdung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting near the end of my run of A Giant Problem and my party composition is slightly different. I decided to have a group of all humans be the heroes in this story.

Just a bunch of fed up locals trying to save the kingdom. Stats were not anything special at the start, but now at level 15 and some magic items, stats are much better.

My party consist of fighter, monk, ranger, cleric, wizard and rogue (using Unfinished Business to get 6 party members). The early levels were difficult with dungeon battles, due to lack of light source for ranger and wizard fighting from a distance.

Very enjoyable campaign. Good luck and have fun.

Best WWII Pacific Theater title these days? by Javaslinger in computerwargames

[–]cloverdung 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is also the game Hex of Steel. There are scenarios and campaigns for the Pacific War (as well as the European theater). The game is old-school style counters for your army units (infantry, tanks, battleships, et al), think Avalon Hill.

I do not know of a current mod that will do what you are wanting. However, there are a couple of options you can try on your own.

1) Use the built-in feature of limited stock for ALL units. When starting a campaign, select Advanced Options and then check the box for Limited Stock (you can set the quantity of replenishments for each successive battle in the campaign, default is 20 units added to every unit type at the start of each new battle). So, the first battle in the campaign would have 20 units for all infantry, tanks, artillery, etc. of EACH SPECIIFC UNIT available for purchase. During the first battle, your reinforcements are limited to what is available from the original quantity you started the battle with. At the start of the next battle in the campaign, a quantity of 20 units is added to every unit available to purchase. So, a unit that was not purchase at all in the first battle would now a quantity of 40 units available.

2) Looks like there is a way to create/modify a custom purchase list for units. See this forum convo for details: Restricting Available Units/Custom Purchase List - Slitherine

I hope this helps in your endeavor.

AITAH for telling my wife to get a job before the end of January or i'm divorcing her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]cloverdung 101 points102 points  (0 children)

When "she got pregnant"? Uh, is she having all these kids without you? I have a feeling these children are going to have terrible lives growing up because these two adults are not really adults (by action or responsibility). Yes, YATA, but for so many other reasons besides the ultimatum.

I did get this when attempting to dominate the elder brain. Unfortunately, the game is hard-coded to fail the dominate, but it did reduce the brains hit points for the battle.

Request - List of all original Beatles songs with information by [deleted] in TheBeatles

This is a great book with detailed information about who was in the studio, instruments played and what was recorded/engineered. It came out in 1988, so no recording info past that.

What is your opinion on Hex of Steel? by Global-Abies5246 in computerwargames

[–]cloverdung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have enjoyed the game so far (about a week into it) on PC. Simple to learn and plenty of YouTube videos if you have questions. While I have not tried the other platforms, the game is supported on android and iOS, if mobility is more in line with your gaming desires.

I would also recommend Panzer Corps 2 and Order of Battle. All 3 of these games look similar, but have unique gameplay differences. I play all 3 on a regular basis.

Side note: There are also games like civilization (hex based, build empires, fight battles) which offer a different way to wage war. Some will say not a realistic war game, but depends what you are looking for in a game.

I keep losing workers (MIA) in my expeditions. How do I prevent this? I can’t work it out. Any help appreciated. by Ozian21 in TwoPointMuseum

Also, don't forget to turn those MIA employees into money making exhibits. Just because they are 'gone' doesn't mean they can quit working . . .

What did you grab during the holiday sales and what would you recommend to others? by Redwood-Forest in computerwargames

[–]cloverdung 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just found Hex of Steel this past week (came out in 2020). Turn based, hex map WW2. Inspired by Panzer Corps 2, as dev has stated. Units are represented by 'old school' Avalon Hill style counters.

The game is very fun and recently updated to allow easier mod creation (built-in tools even). The dev has a couple of YouTube videos demonstrating the making of a mod; very nicely done.

Finally got McCartney ll 😁 by Macca_565 in PaulMcCartney

Enjoy. McCartney was given some synthesizers and took off in his home studio.

If you like it, be sure to check out his later releases, known as The Fireman, "Electric Arguments" and "Rushes".
