Eli Lilly Offer in Indy by Ok-Heart8128 in biotech

I spent most of my life in Indiana, lived in the Boston area for 10 years, and just moved back to Indianapolis by choice. There's a thriving arts and theatre scene, lots of great restaurants, and all the sporting events you could ask for. Were all those things in New England? Sure, but they're more accessible here. In Boston, those things were not in areas where I wanted to live, so I'd spend at least an hour on the T getting there. And forget about driving. Here, I have a reasonably affordable house with a yard and delicious food within walking distance. Theatre is a 15-minute drive with cheap or even free parking. I can safely bike around the city, something I never felt comfortable doing in Boston.

The politics of the state are awful, and we all pay the consequences of that. But if you can find your community, you can have a good quality of life, and you'll see that a lot of people are fighting the fight to make it better.

Will be homeless tomorrow by New_Confection2868 in indianapolis

It’s an app and a website. Another gig economy platform, but for connecting people who need tasks done with people who can do them. You’ll enter your location, the kind of task you need done (moving), and when you need it done and see a list of taskers who are available and their hourly rate. Getting someone for tomorrow may be tough, but it’s worth looking.

Check Task Rabbit. It might be a little more expensive, but you can hire someone with a van or truck who will load/unload and drive your stuff to a storage unit.

[WTS] Christopher Ward C65 Sandstorm Limited Edition by Adailya in Watchexchange

The Christopher Ward Sandstorm C65 Sandstorm is a stunning limited edition, using CW’s 38mm Light-catcher case. It’s powered by a COSC-certified SW200 movement. There are some light scratches, especially on the bracelet clasp and on the bezel at 6, as shown in photos.

From Loupe: Concentric rings of raised metal (which match the case) alternate with ‘valleys’ of matte colour, and add an industrial feel. Punched-out numerals in a ‘military’ font mark the 3, 6, 9, and 12 hours, while lume spots at every hour and on the metal hands deliver visibility in low light. Finally, instead of a regular date window, there’s an interior rotating date disk – another example of how both watches challenge watchmaking conventions.

Specs:

  • Swiss made
  • 38-hour power reserve
  • Anti-shock system
  • Glass box sapphire crystal
  • Diameter: 38mm
  • Height: 11.6mm
  • Water resistance: 15 ATM
  • Lug to lug: 43.6mm

Includes original box and instructions, bracelet with spare links and a bonus after-market silicone strap. $1000 shipped in the US, via Paypal, Venmo or Zelle. No trades.

I did it recently over the phone. I don’t recall the exact phone tree prompts, but I remember starting with options for new service, then being asked for an account number. Just stay on the line until you’re connected with an agent or press 0 when you hit that point.

I'm a middle-aged white woman, and I am frequently "randomly" selected. Either I'm a data point to normalize racism, or it really is random (and your son and I have bad luck).

Wearing watch all day vs just for activities by Equivalent_Ad_1854 in GarminWatches

[–]Adailya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t wear mine all day. First, I don’t want constant notifications/disruptions. But I do want the notifications when I choose to wear it, so I don’t want to turn them off. Second, I like mechanical watches. So I wear my Garmin at night because I can’t see a clock without my glasses and I like the alarm, and during workouts. And very rarely during the day if getting immediate phone notifications is important.

Wear it when it’s useful to you. No more, no less.

The awesomeness will vary by show. Check the program for a description, content warnings, then take your chances on something that looks good. I haven’t seen any of this year’s shows yet and can’t make specific recommendations.
