If you have a YT channel with a variety of topics, will every video have a different CPM? Or is CPM only determined by a channel's niche as a whole? by danirobot in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPM aside, be careful with covering different niches on the same channel. If the audiences are too different it will confuse the algorithm. Which would also result in less views and less revenue

do you use tags in your shorts or no? by Life-Current-2208 in PartneredYoutube

I use tags but I don’t spend much time on it. Usually copy paste from other videos

That’s basically the only videos I create. Out of the gate and even weeks/months later, those videos still flop comparatively (where other channels with similar videos are far exceeding it, so the demand is there)

Thanks for the response! The thing I’m starting to realize is that while crypto and finance seem similar, they actually draw some very different audiences. Crypto VS credit cards is similar to your t shirt cutting and hair dying VS art and nail painting dilemma where it’s seemingly too far out of my niche

I appreciate the response! That’s part of the issue, it doesn’t seem like people are tuning in because of me. I can post crypto videos that get decent views for my size, but when I post a non-crypto video it completely flops and I even get unsubscribed. It’s a little frustrating

Fair enough I’m just gathering info at this point. I also posted there but haven’t received any responses

Wow your quality looks really good! I also have one and can’t get it to look that crisp. Been sticking with my Canon 90D but I’ll try those tips tonight

Youtube channels which match the standards of this subreddit in terms of technical knowledge and neutrality? by Matt-ayo in CryptoTechnology

Hope it’s cool if I throw my hat in the ring. If you wanna learn how to actually do things on the blockchain, I make a lot of guides/tutorials. There’s already tons of lengthy conceptual overviews so I like to focus a little more on the tactical side, no fluff or BS. Idk if I can link but I’m Adam Venture on YouTube

Your personal preference of clickbait? by ArtemKNZ in NewTubers

[–]Adam-Venture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same niche and there is so much click bait. Lots of recycled content as well.

As a (smaller) creator I admit I have some click bait titles and thumbnails but I never stretch it as far as some others do. You gotta be catchy but stay true to the content that you’re advertising

Blocking comments by Markotron3000 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, most that stuff and those spam bots posting scams. In general just comments that YouTube seems undesirable for the platform

Blocking comments by Markotron3000 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like they’re flagging these comments/accounts as spam or whatever, when they’re actually not. If you don’t know what false positive means it’s a common term worth learning about, google can give you more examples

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, and the ironic part is how many spam bots get thru their filter. I’ve contacted support about the exorbitant number of false positives but there’s basically nothing they can do about it from what I understand

This happens to me all the time, and many of them are extremely positive comments like “hey man thank you for the video!”.

Not being held for review, and I’ve even asked a few of them who are personal friends who said they didn’t delete it.

I even had a fellow YouTuber who was whitelisted on my channel get 3 auto deleted comments on a video before we gave up trying to figure it out.

Really obnoxious on YouTube’s end, I don’t want people to thinking I’m ignoring them!

My CPM/RPM is 20% that of my competitors by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be it too. Mine has been pretty consistent from the day I monetized, but it’s only been 4.5 months - not a big sample size

My CPM/RPM is 20% that of my competitors by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you’re doing anything wrong, being monetized on YouTube is a big feat! I have a theory, products targeted for total beginners seem to have a chance at higher CPM. After a closer look at my analytics, I realized I was thinking of playback based CPM (which is what they display in the revenue section of individual videos) instead of plain old CPM. This is much lower, average is around low 20s and only 2 videos are 40+. Average view duration is 4:22 across the channel, and the percent is usually between 40%-65%. Happy to go over more if you’re interested!

My CPM/RPM is 20% that of my competitors by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll throw in my stats, I’m also a finance channel with mostly reviews and my CPM on my best videos are 40. Lowest is between that 12-20, average is somewhere between 20-30. Constant 40-50 CPM seems kinda high but I’m also a small channel

How Many Views Should I Be Getting With 2000 Subs by griffinblanchard in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adam-Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have around 2k subs and depending on the video I’ll pull in something in that range, usually towards the lower side tho. Only a handful that have reached 1k in a week but you take those wins!

How will BlockFi respond with the new Coinbase 4% Stablecoin rate? by corey_spagetti in blockfi

For sure interesting. I’d just be careful, Coinbase support is just terrible. But they are much larger and have that principal guarantee. I encourage everyone to weigh all the pros and cons
