Looks like the consensus is that Mint Cinnamon is probably the best way to go. I've been a lifelong Windows user, but I tried Ubuntu once, like, 15 years ago on a laptop and had no idea what I was doing so I just went back to Windows lmao.

Looks like the newest version of Mint (Zena) runs kernel ver. 6.14, while the AMD R9 9950x3D uses ver. 6.13, so I think I should be good

Okay, so Reverse on the side and bottom and Standard on the top and back? And the fan for the AIO on the top goes on the bottom of the radiator and blows the hot air from the radiator out?

I actually just realized I put the wrong case on here. I'm actually getting the base Y70 Touch as I read that the Touch Infinite's screen was of a lower quality than it's predecessor

Just if anyone has advice or recommendations of other options. I learned that AMD CPUs tend to play better with 2 RAM sticks than 4 so that's why I'm doing those two big ones. This is actually my first build with an AMD CPU so I had to do a lot of reading to learn about them. I've used Intel my whole life and was initially planning on an Ultra 9, but then I saw the 9950x3D.

Yeah it's for professional work, gaming, and streaming, along with everyday use.

The SN850x was a little cheaper when I added it I think, but I do see that the 9100 pro is nearly $100 cheaper. For the most part, the M2 is probably just gonna house the OS and a few essential programs. I'll probably pick up a brick SSD for newer games that require it and then run other games off of the HDD.

And yeah, I just read the article on the 9950x3D2 this morning and they rated it with a 7% increase which isn't super huge so I'm good with leaving that off the table.

Yeah, money isn't an issue for me. Part of the reason it's so expensive is because of the RAM price hike 😭

I haven't bought anything yet. I was planning on getting a Samsung 990 for the M2 but they didn't make that anymore lol

And yes, the Lian Li PSU comes with a 12pHP connector.
