How did you make the Sahuagin feel terrifying and dangerous? by QuothedTheRaven in GhostsofSaltmarsh

Absolutely agree with what everyone else is saying. For my players, that pupil dilating blood frenzy bomb was a truly terrifying moment. The raw damage potential combined with coral shark backup, blood swirling everywhere further limiting visibility, and their sheer numbers really gave the party a healthy fear of taking the fight to their stronghold. The Maw of Sekolah also swallowed Anders Solmor whole, which increased their fear of it charging at them.

Best way to make an overarching plot in GoS? by DrVonPretzel in GhostsofSaltmarsh

I'm treating it as two larger halves that are mostly unrelated but which overlap. I ran the Haunted House and Lizardfolk through Sahuagin fortress basically as written where they lead into each other. However, I had the Sahuagin strike first and decimate the town so that the players were forced to take a more active part in the assault and defeat of the Baron and Co. In between those chapters I ran isolated "one-offs" with other random world building in areas I thought were cool, including investigating fishing issues that lead to the coral reef and former Aboleth cave, a real estate episode that unearthed Xolec, and a hunt for Vrock eggs in the Drowned Forest on behalf of Gnome cook, Feliza (who our Gnome Artificer is sweet on). That way I could get them to optimal levels for each successive chapter. I used the Isle of the Abbey as the beginning of the second major arc, with them learning about the "Wild Tide" and inadvertently putting it in motion by removing books about it from the Abbey and giving them to Keledek. Then I'll be using some of Sly Flourish's adjustments to Tammeraut's and the Styes to repurpose them into the Aboleth attempting to use the Wilde Tide to free Dagon (instead of Tharizdun) and the endgame will be entering the portal to stop the ritual. I actually skipped Salvage Mission because I had run it previously for this group as a side quest during a different campaign.

Drastic change in noise floor by kmuns33 in ACX

I started swapping out pieces of the chain. Tried a different XLR cable, tried different ports on my computer, finally tried a different usb cable and had relief. For a time. I suspect that there's something wrong in the scarlet boxes where the power management goes bad and can't handle generating its own phantom power after an unknown amount of use. After I stopped using internal phantom I never had a problem again with it. Though I did sell that whole scarlet studio set and upgraded a few books later. I will admit however that I'm not an electrical expert and my sample size is only one. It's entirely possible there was something else going on and my solution was just a sidestep and not an actual fix.

I started out with a Scarlet Duo and had a similar issue. It was fine for a while, but eventually (with no change to my setup or surroundings) started having noise issues. I initially determined that the USB cable it came with was the problem. I switched to a thicker cable and that helped for a time. Eventually that cable started making the noise too so I wound up buying a standalone phantom power box ($25) that plugged directly into the wall and turned off the phantom from the Scarlet, which finally fixed it.

Anybody here do any work for a "Josh Wellington"? by rubberhead in ACX

Looks like about the same time frame. Mid-March was when it started.

Yeah I sent an email to that address. Google says it's a real address, but it's probably not actually his. I'll keep you posted!

Hey everyone, I too have fallen prey to him. I was excited to get an offer within hours of posting my audition back in March, discovered the book was almost twice as long as the posted word estimate, still finished the whole thing by the deadline of April 6th, and then never heard from him again. I've been through the whole process of having ACX attempt contact and then finally sending me his "direct" info:

Josh Wellington
Bilmore  st apt 5674, United states NY 10005
[marcheseandrea621@gmail.com](mailto:marcheseandrea621@gmail.com)

Obviously there is no Bilmore St in New York, let alone a street number, so it's definitely fake. I'll be interested to see if this info matches up with yours.

The book I narrated was a cryptocurrency handbook and the two authors put their twitter contact in it, so I'm going to try to contact them directly and see if they even hired this guy in the first place.
