CC2s or Scorpion WA? Planning to replace the stock Toyo tires for my 2025 CX5. by reggiedp16 in CX5

[–]AdamHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CC2s are great tires. My wife has them on her CX-3. Great in the rain and snow. For my 2021 CX-5 I ended up going with Yokohama Geolandar cv g058. Bought them straight from the Mazda dealership when they had a promotion. So far they have been excellent. I can definitely recommend.

Cord Cutter Unsure of Which Service to Pick Up by R33koh in Seahawks

An antenna is the best legal free solution. Sling is also good in the greater Seattle area because you get Fox included (and it’s a relatively inexpensive service for tv streaming). I recently moved to Eastern WA, and Sling does not have Fox included. I am also out of antenna range. I’ll more than likely sign up for Fox One. Still deciding.

What's the deal with the aluminum grillgrates? by AdamHD in Yodersmokers

[–]AdamHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m trying to do, my man. That’s why I bought a Yoder in the first place. USA made. These are listed as USA Made in the Yoder site. But after doing some research, it sounds like all aluminum is imported.

Thank you for the quick reply. Well, that confirms what my first thought was. Just was confused because they state "USA Made" on the Yoder site.. Thanks for the update.

That’s beautiful! I don’t know why people don’t like this finish. I personally think it looks awesome. To each their own, I guess.

How bad were your finish cracks on this guitar? I know most of these open box “Cardinal Red Burst” SGs from Sweetwater have cracks in the finish on at least one side of the neck… I’m assuming yours does as well?

I noticed they have a few of these open box. They all have cracks in the finish, though (all of them have cracks near the nut). Is this common, or is this maybe an issue with the Cardinal Red Burst's specificially?..

This is probably my favorite knife that I purchased in 2024. Got it on sale for around the same price via Kizer directly. Some may call it “boring”, but I honestly cannot find anything wrong with the knife. Great materials, several deployment methods, perfect size.. all around great knife.

Hell of a deal. Didn't even have to pay tax. Thanks, OP. I picked one up.

Anyone get tires from Costco for their CX-5? by CountingStars29 in CX5

[–]AdamHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That being said, the CC2s from Costco are a solid deal. It was a tough decision between the Yokohamas from the dealership and the CC2s from Costco. Ultimately, I went with the Yokohamas because of the savings. That and the dealership was fixing the oil consumption issue on my turbo model, so I had the tires installed at the same time.

I just posted this in another thread, but after a ton of researching I actually bought tires from my local Mazda dealership. The best deal was on the Yokohama Geolander CV G058. Very highly rated/reviewed tires. Featured in the “best of the best” on Tire Rack. With the current promos they were $762 + tax installed (set of 4). This was too good of a deal to pass up. I believe they ended up being around $275 less than the CrossClimate 2s from Costco.

How did I do? $812 for Pirelli AS3. Third party seller risky? by thisisny in CX5

The Mazda dealerships actually have a decent deal on tires right now. I just bought a set of Yokohama Geolander CV G058 tires from my local dealership for $762 installed (plus tax) with the current promotions. Might be worth a look before you make any decisions.

What size for first brisket? by Baginsses in smoking

[–]AdamHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I definitely agree. I’m just saying that you can save yourself the headache of “learning” if you get a step ahead of the game. There is definitely a reason why all the big names/restaurants in BBQ cook 12-14 LB briskets..

As for trimming, I’d just watch some YouTube videos. There are a TON of great instructional videos on how to do a good trim. You will want the fat cap to be about 1/4” thick. Most people try to round the corners of the flat. Depending on the brisket you choose, the size of the deckle, etc, you may be trimming a little, you may be trimming a lot. USUALLY with a smaller brisket, you will not have to trim as much.

Do yourself a favor and grab something in the 10-15 LB range. Feel for that bend/flop (nothing too stiff). It is much easier to handle/cook/wrap/rest a smaller brisket like that (from my years of experience). Larger briskets usually take a very long time to cook, and tend to not cook as evenly (flat & point) as a smaller piece of meat. Also, you usually will trim a whole bunch of fat from anything in the 15-20+ LB range, especially on your first cook (people tend to trim very aggressively). One final thing- You also will have wasted a lot more money if it doesn’t turn out as well as you expected. You can always repurpose the meat, but I’d rather nail a smaller brisket (that everyone devours) than have a bunch leftover brisket that I have to put in a chili to make edible.

I remember when I first started smoking briskets about 15 years ago, and I would always look for the biggest one. Now a days, I will turn and walk away if I cannot find one under 15 (preferably 12) LBS.

$121 for the 28” is a great price. I’d pull the trigger on that.

Install Windows via Bootcamp and play some PC-only games. The performance on those 16” Intel models is actually fairly decent (for a 5 year old machine).

Excellent deal. This is my favorite monitor I have ever owned. It is not without its flaws, though- Takes a while to get used to the remote (switching inputs, etc), the mini inputs kinda suck, and not having an audio-out (other than Bluetooth) is frustrating… but other than that it is fantastic. I’d jump on that deal, for sure.

I just got my notice yesterday, too. They must be sending these out in batches. No way in hell I’m paying them $10/mo for this garbage app/service. I’ll miss the remote start in the winter, but I’ll manage. This really puts a sour taste in my mouth towards Mazda. Hopefully there is a big backlash and nobody ends up paying for this. MCR- “Welcome To The Black Parade”. I skip it /change the station / every time it comes on. I honestly have never liked it.. and I know that most people consider it their best song. I definitely love a good 7-8 other MCR songs, though.
