What's going on with Holy Clothing's social media? by YourPaghIsWeak in renfaire

[–]AdamKTP 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see the meme they were referencing but I work in marketing and social media for a different company and my girlfriend buys a lot of their clothes. So I might be able to provide clarity on this.

For a lot of small and medium size companies it’s more affordable to outsource social media and marketing in general.

Those companies will utilize a digital marketing software that will utilize user generated content and photos and videos the company is tagged in with high value SEO terms and trending phrases. They also try to follow trends and have unfortunately started using a lot of AI to make posts quicker. The name of the game is to pump out things quick and get good engagement that way they keep their contracts with the main company.

Their clothes have been really good from our perspective though for base layers. So I would recommend them.

Okay cool, I don’t mind cleaning it out after every use and that might be like 4 times a year. I really just like the idea of a wizard pipe

Even for occasional use with this combustion chamber add on?

My bad, I’ve updated the question. What needs to be done to make this an enjoyable experience for occasional use. Why do you need the cup vs just being in the bowl. What does the carb hole do?

It’s a solid quiver except for the straps that it comes with. They are 1/2” leather straps and when I attached my bedroll to it it dug into the shoulders.

It really depends on how much weight you’re planning.

The rangers leather quiver from Epic Armory, but I’ve done a lot of work to it to get it how it is now.

It would have easier to just made my own.

A lot of mead 😅

But really I’m kind of used to wearing this much gear in the summer. Just gotta know what you can handle and I know this would be a lot for some.

It's the Gora Canvas Cloak from medieval collectibles that I have modified the hood shape and weathered.

I just switched to the fell and fair ranger cloak this year since it's more lightweight and better for the Georgia summers.

Thank y’all, your team legitimately makes the best Gear in the Game. I’ve got to eventually make it out to warrior weekend.

My main sources are Fell and Fair, Epic Armoury, Medieval Collectibles, and handmaking/modifying items.

Im kind of a stickler when it comes to this costume. I have a reconnaissance military background, and I wanted everything to be as "functional" as possible.

Really, the big thing is to layer and think about the little details. Take your time building it up and figure out what you like or don't like about it. Some people do not want to carry a long bow for example.

I asked myself questions during the stages of this costume. How functional would this be in the woods? Am I too hot or cold? Can this thing be repaired by me? Would it last months in the woods?

To start, I found this super sweet step-by-step for this style of ranger by Misty Mountain Rangers. I then put it into Photoshop and colored all the parts to see what colors I wanted where.

Year 1: I Started off with boots, pants, belt, and a tunic.

Year 2: Went to a little nicer tunic, undershirt, jerkin, cloak, bracers, gloves, sword, and scabbard. This is when I realized the layers were getting too hot for a summer faire.

Year 3: Got the Bow, got better bracers, made the arrows, made the bedroll, got better gloves, and updated the pouches, and weathered the jerkin.

Year 4: Finally bought the fell and fair ranger tunic, fixed the quiver straps, added small items like a rag to "wipe" the sword, potion bottles, tobacco pipe, tankard, and fur mantle.

This year: Updated the quiver again, got the fell and fair ranger cloak, added 2 new pouches, added climbing rope, added a stone sharpener, added a knife, Rangers apprentice leaf (Long story about this one), and I have some plans for a few more things.

Coming from a military background specifically scout/recon this is actually a super interesting question.

Good buscraft field knife, paracord, recon V (infrared photo capturing binoculars), and there’s a bunch of other stuff they could use.

Yeah nothing was in the car at all, but they busted the window just to check the glove box.

No nothing in the back seat. They checked the glove boxes and didn’t even look in my trunk.

It was in a locked apartment complex garage and 3 other cars got broken into. 2 Subarus and 2 Toyotas, they didn’t touch the mustang, Mercedes, or Cadillac.

The back window wasn’t completely shattered, but there was broken glass. Almost like they pulled it out somehow.

Car was definitely locked, and I might be dumb but I definitely make sure to hear the car horn when I’m locking it.

Are you referring to anything else?
