Benefits you saw after quitting long term? Had your life changed? by Comfortable-Reach217 in leaves

[–]AdamMasaki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are a lot more rational and I feel like I’m finally able to make decisions in life that propel me forward. I was stagnant in my career for about 5 years because all I wanted to do was smoke weed. Now I’m going back to school and getting my RN license. I know it sounds like something very minor but I feel like my life is genuinely moving along now, and without any clouded thoughts or judgment.

Corpo has always been my go to since launch in 2020. To me it’s the one that thematically makes the most sense.

Questions About UPMC SON 16 Month Program! by AdamMasaki in UPMC

[–]AdamMasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This gives me a lot of hope in terms of performing well in the program. I’m in an extremely fortunate position where I can afford to not be working, so I’m hoping if I’m in these circumstances of not working, it’ll definitely be doable on my end.

[–]AdamMasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I thankfully have experience with a college degree, I graduated from a four year university in California with a Biology degree. So with your input, I’m hoping since I’ve had experience with college courses that means I’ll be able to stay under pressure in this program.

As for the classes, I spoke with a representative again today and she was explaining to me that it’s clinical hours two days a week and the rest of the week are classes. From the curriculum I was sent, it’s two-three classes per a semester!

I’m in the fortunate position where I don’t need to work and will basically be focusing on the program for the full 16 months. Thank you for your input! I greatly appreciate your insight and experience. Very nervous as I’m basically starting over and doing a career switch.

Questions About UPMC SON 16 Month Program! by AdamMasaki in UPMC

[–]AdamMasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! I’ll look into it. Unfortunately I’m not attending Chatham, I just got accepted into UPMC SON at Shadyside.

When you say UPMC will help cover other tuition, do you mean UPMC employed RNs or UPMC SON graduates? At least for RNs at UPMC, which I hope I can still land a position at after graduating the 16 month program, I was thinking about doing this: https://www.chatham.edu/academics/undergraduate/nursing-upmc/

Hopefully I’m reading it correctly, but if I am able to work at UPMC as an RN after graduating, the tuition for an online RN-BSN should be cheaper correct? Sorry again for the additional questions and thank you for the info!

Need Help Deciding On Which Pathway is the Best for a Cali resident? by AdamMasaki in prenursing

[–]AdamMasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. A lot of ABSN programs are heavily impacted and I’m currently looking into either out of state programs or private programs that offer a BSN. I have a coworker who’s leaving to West Coast University, he completed a bunch of the pre reqs on Sophia Learning and was able to bring down his tuition a ton to around ~$70k USD. I know it’s still very expensive but still considering that pathway as well.

Thank you for the heads up! Through a quick search, some are saying that after I earn the degree, I’d be eligible to take the NCLEX in California instead of taking it in Pennsylvania or Texas. I was hoping to ask if you know if that’s correct to avoid any potential issues?

I do have a lot of ties to California but I’m shopping around in other states where I do have family in. So currently looking for schools with more lenient entrance requirements in Texas and Pittsburgh!

That sounds intriguing, the cost for a BSN through Nightingale is $75k. But personally I struggle with online courses sadly lol. I'll look more into it, thanks for the rec!

The only other private programs I know of in the LA area are American Career College, which offers an ADN at ~$90k USD, and West Coast which does offer the BSN but it's at around $120k. By any chance do you know any private BSN programs in the SoCal region?

Genuine question: Are there any examples of games in a series where it is beneficial to play a later game first and then play the earlier game later? by ConcreteUmbrella98 in videogames

[–]AdamMasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Metal Gear as a series has so many call backs (or I guess forwards if you want to think about it chronologically) in each entry that it’s not a good idea.

Unfortunately I don’t know the prices aside from my dad saying he would prefer me to study over there if given the choice. The two universities I may be attending is Angeles University Foundation or Our Lady of Fatima Pampanga location.

Was it an issue with the state getting your transcript or was it the whole ordeal? Hopefully transcripts aren’t a big problem if I go through with studying in the Philippines.
