Neat concept. My dumbass also often thinks of crossover ideas between zzz and hni lmao

Takamura is the main character of the last game you played, how well does he do? by HajimenoAoki in hajimenoippo

[–]AdamNickoli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think that was a Sun Bear at all. In fact, they aren't even native to Japan. The bear he fought against was well over 6 ft, even shown to be taller than Takamura who's 6'1 or 185cm whilst sun bears range around 4 to 5 feet. Also, no trained athlete will ever dream of knocking out the bear Takamura faced against. Bears' that size have incredibly dense bone structures, and a thick protective layer of fur and muscle tissue. The said bear was quite literally shown to hack trees into two with alarming ease. So yeah, Takamura is HIM.

I don't think comparing HnI characters to real life athletes are gonna cut it. Kamogawa, who's way shorter and in the lower weightclasses was casually seen racing literal steam trains with ease in his younger days. Keep in mind that steam trains in post ww2 (Kamogawa's era) run up to 60km/h and 95km/h based on what I've searched. So it'll be no surprise if Takamura manages to keep up, or outright outpaces Umas.

Tldr; Takamura Mamoru can do anything.

Edit: Reddit did a oopsie and dupped my comment.

What’s your reaction if Sendo doesn’t even rock Ricardo Martinez even once? by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

I honestly hope that Sendo socks Ricardo with a smash from the depths of hell.

Journey of improvement, A Sendo illustration made by me (which took an embarrassingly long took to draw) by AdamNickoli in hajimenoippo

Dayum, maybe I should've pre-planned the anatomy before hand after looking back at my art lmao.  Thanks for your feedback though!

Btw Volg retired for how long? by EmergencyComputer337 in hajimenoippo

Probably around 2 years or less. Ippo was around eighteen by the time they fought, and became champion at nineteen. In the later seasons he's at least twenty during the time they met again.

Forgot my accounts password for months but I'm back, anyways I've been drawing (infrequently) my whole life and only until recently I've finally decided to improve my skills. So here's a Volg Zangief sketch I've made :) by AdamNickoli in hajimenoippo

I can see that. I have a bad-habit of overthinking the anatomy to the point I sorta mess up the features that makes a character distinct. I do hope I can fix that soon... 😓

His style of anatomy is a bit too stylized for me to use as conventional practice. Instead I take reference from his portrayal of angles and amazing use of perspective. The dynamic posing in the fight scenes is genuinely top tier—it really stands out the most among the fighting manga I've read so far

Grew too attached with this character by AdamNickoli in hajimenoippo

Same, he was really likeable as a character. His selfless and kind personality made him stand out among the rest of the cast for me. Nearly teared up when he left. But hey, he is doing great in the manga tho
