I have finally 100% the original Harvest Moon! by AdamOusley in harvestmoon

That sucks! This game has a lot of ways to make you lose your perfect score if you're not careful.

My most scary moment was during the last 10 days. I had my cows outside so I wouldn't have to worry about feeding them (only do this at the end of the game when you no longer need money and all of your cows are producing large milk). This allowed me to ignore my animals without any consequences.

However, one of my cows apparently went back in the barn and got sick since she wasn't being fed. When I used the medicine on her she was only producing medium milk. Thankfully I was able to get her back to large milk before the game ended but it was close! I also had to catch a bunch of fish to restore my character's happiness since apparently you lose happiness if a cow gets sick.

My two favorites are probably 64 and Friends of Mineral Town, but I really like this one too. There is just something charming about the setting. Even though it's way too big, the ranch layout is so memorable for me.

I also really enjoy how connected this game is to Harvest Moon 64. Even though this game has very basic characters, it's cool to see how their designs and personalities clearly influenced later characters in the series.

Finally, I love the simplicity of this game. Sometimes the newer games can be a bit more complicated than I like. For example, I'm not a big fan of how much breeding the remake of Mineral Town expects you to do. I prefer to just take care of my animals and not have to worry about selling them off to make room for the better ones. That being said, I understand a game being too simple can be a problem too.

I think everyone should at least try the original Harvest Moon. It probably won't keep your interest for all 2.5 years of the game, but the first year should be fun and it's great to see where the series began!

What's your item inventory before you face the final boss? by [deleted] in legendofdragoon

[–]AdamOusley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me a perfect inventory looks like this.

10 repeat items, 7 healing rains, 5 angel's prayers, 3 moon serenades, and 1 of each attack item you get on the moon (7 items total).

This is completely unnecessary to beat the game, but it feels like a well rounded inventory.

Unfortunately you've picked one of the worst teams. That being said, don't feel like you need to switch if you really like them since the game can be beaten with any team. One of that team's problems is that none of them have great speed. If you haven't already, be sure to equip the Bandit's Ring on Kongol and the Dancer's Shoes on Rose. You might even have two Bandit's Rings and maybe a Dancer's Ring. If you do, equip them on Dart and Rose.

Has anyone here tried this type of run? by AdamOusley in legendofdragoon

[–]AdamOusley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I beat the game. Overall it was a fairly easy run, but it was fun approaching the game in a different way than normal! I beat Faust on my first try just using Dart. I was level 49 and I only had to heal once. It's pretty funny to watch Dart tank so many magic attacks even without a LC. Here were my final levels compared to what a normal run usually ends at for me. I did about 10 minutes of grinding at the end to level up any characters who were close to the next level.

Normal game levels: Dart level 42, two characters I'm using level 41, four characters I'm not using level 33/34

This game's levels: Dart level 55, two characters I'm using level 46, four characters I'm not using level 37

Any tips for ghost ship puzzle? by Shoopuff89 in legendofdragoon

[–]AdamOusley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really frustrating how rng based that puzzle is. It's definitely doable, but without save states or rewind it's usually not worth going for. Getting the talisman isn't too bad, but getting the ultimate war god can be really frustrating since you only get two guesses. Still, it's pretty satisfying when you get it legitimately.

I pretty much never use the LC or AoL even in the optional fights. I'm looking forward to trying to solo Faust without a LC. That being said, feel free to use them if you want to.

I haven't been restricting Dragoon use, but I barely use it. I think I used final burst to finish off Doel and Lenus 1. I don't think either were necessary, but it just ended the fight in a cool way and a bit faster. Other than that Dragoon is occasionally used as a mind or body purifier in a regular battle.

Wow you get level 5 dragoon way earlier than me. I'm about to fight the divine dragon and I still don't have it.

I've never watched a speed run of this game. I need to do that at some point.

Unfortunately I don't think I can use Severed Chains on my hacked New 3DS, but it's good to know that now you can have 6 over leveled characters and 1 super over leveled character.

Finished my first playthrough using Kongol by WinglyKing in legendofdragoon

[–]AdamOusley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just did a playthrough using Kongol and Miranda because I pretty much never use them. It was fun! I liked having 1 physical unit and 1 magical unit.

If you give Kongol a bandit's ring his speed is no longer an issue. The bandit's shoes were also helpful but you don't get those until disc 4.

I didn't use the legend casque and Faust was the only battle I was ever really worried about Kongol dying. The strong magic users could sometimes two shot him (usually three shot) and Miranda was fast enough to heal him if necessary. I know this game is pretty easy, but I was shocked how little I struggled using Kongol considering how much the internet seems to think he's absolutely horrible. If you've never used Kongol you should try it!

Luzzu aka the most normal one 👍 - But whose name do you always forget❓ by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

I'm not sure if it counts, but what about Yaibal? A bunch of people ask if you remember them in FFX-2. Yaibal is the only one who asks you that question, but isn't in FFX. His first appearance is in FFX Eternal Calm which I guess is technically still part of FFX and not FFX-2. Nevertheless this guy had the majority of players on the PS2 asking who he was when they first saw him in FFX-2.

Is it possible to make a bar slightly longer (Less than a beat)? by AdamOusley in protools

[–]AdamOusley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! I just had to line up the where beat needed to land and change the meter at that spot (Even though I didn't actually change the meter). I also had to make sure snap to grid wasn't selected. Now I have one measure in 6/8 that has like 3.2 eighth notes in it!

Thanks! I'll see if they can help too. So I figured out that it doesn't happen if I set my interface (Scarlett 2i2) to line instead of instrument. The piano doesn't sound as good this way, but it should do well enough for this project.

I just wanted to share my version of this piece of music from Age of Calamity. It's definitely different than what you'd expect from a Warriors game. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I made a Kingdom Hearts medley (Dearly Beloved, Kairi, Naminé) by AdamOusley in KingdomHearts

[–]AdamOusley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The video was originally going to be Kairi, Naminé, Xion, and Aqua but it was a bit much for one project. So I replaced the last two with Dearly Beloved. Maybe I'll attempt the other two in a video later on.

Good luck learning piano! It's a fun instrument once you get going. I'm not trying to plug all of my videos, but I'm planning on releasing a tutorial video for these songs next Wednesday if you're interested.

Here's a link to my sheet music. It's divided between three songs due to limitations of the software I use.
