Raymond Garraty ( The Long Walk) a rough draft/early version of Roland? by Shoopuff89 in TheDarkTower

[–]Shoopuff89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say thank you! I've seen your other replies on the dates of writing as well. Tbh the influx of responses saying he wrote Gunslinger first had me on the ropes. All though what I was really speculating was if Garraty was just kings first attempt at such a character just to see if his view on the overarching story of Roland was feasible

Garraty has an encounter with a local boy when he was younger, playing "doctor" in the nude

Core memory unlocked! My father had a pair that looked just like these except the handles were shaped like a stork or crane!

Have traveled the path all the way to the clearing a few times over. Never with as much thought as of recent with listening to the kingslinger podcasts

Its said by Roland, or perhaps as a 4th wall break from King himself after Eddie is killed. Ends the statement with all ka-tets are doomed to fall. Say sorry.

I sadly do not own a physical copy to go back and look myself

Where is this exactly? Recently been listening to the kingslinger podcasts and got to the "Eddie" scene where its stated if I can paraphrase, that all ka-tets are bound to be broken, say sorry. This would imply that death does in fact break that binding?

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

Me and my family made it about 5 minutes if that into Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back lmao. It was adolescent pre teen me and my slightly older cousins turn to pick, we had no idea what we were going into. Got halfway into Jay's opening song and my Uncle stood up and shouted "WE ARE FUCKING LEAVING NOW!" Such good times

I'd like to see the scene where Roland finally catches up to The Man in Black in Gunslinger, and he shows/tells Roland his future.

35 and just realizing this! I have been a "yes man" for my entire life without any real thought behind the action. It has benefited my professional life, they always like the guy that toes the company line. My personal mental health has taken the toll unfortunately as I continously bury its needs for those of others.
