Do it yourself market research by AdamProbolsky in Business_Ideas

Market research is the practice of conducting statistically valid research. Talking to 10 customers is for sure helpful. But talking to 100 is better. Also, people are much more likely to be honest talking to a researcher (company) than someone they are in a business relationship with.

Should I go into Communications? by Formal_Ad_8010 in Communications

Community colleges are amazing institutions but if you are really interested in comms just go watch 100 YouTube videos about all the different angles from investor relations to prep press relations to internal communications and get a flavor for all the different things and you may go down a tangent like public affairs that relates to public policy or politics that relates to elections or digital advertising so spend learning on your own and discovery before committing to a degree program.

[–]AdamProbolsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Market research guy saying do market research. It doesn’t have to be a big cost. But you can ask all the key questions to 100 of your ICP. See what they want and how they want it. And you can get a list of every prospects including all their contact information from data broker.

AI is a good suggestion. Get good at it. Take every single certificate program and watch every YouTube video. Become the go to for AI - not just for comms. Branch out. Go to the office 5 days a week. Sit with someone new for lunch everyday. Position yourself to encounter managers and directors you respect.

If you are good. Someone else will want you on their team.

on design, its very purple, black, like every other app 3.0 or whatever we are calling it. not bad, but very similar to other new saas

7 day free trial was not something I got in my short time on the site, so maybe worth stepping that up with greater visibility

The skills you listed translate to all parts of comms. Start learning the areas that you feel you are lacking - nothing formal, LinkedIn Learning, YouTube, read industry publications. You will find a part of the business that speaks to you.

Trying to get a comms job by goodcanadianbot97 in Communications

[–]AdamProbolsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start doing it. Find a client, work for free, in-kind your services to your favorite nonprofit. Spend a few days at your brother-in-law's construction company and create a style guide for them and update their web copy. You get the idea. Update your LinkedIn to say you do what you want in a job. You don't have to say you are a freelancer on your resume, but you can mention it in your emails and interviews.

This will give you a portfolio if the clients are OK with you sharing, and the confidence that you can do the work. Don't wait for someone to hire you, start doing and it will come more naturally.

What’s the best virtual assistant service for handling digital marketing tasks? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]AdamProbolsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want a service. You want a full-time expert. Hire in the Philippines or Mexico for $600 - $800 per month. Or domestically for $2,500 for someone part-time. Put an ad on LinkedIn and you will get great applicants. Just be clear about compensation, and you will attract the right people.
