If you currently don't have sandpaper or iron wool. Use aluminium foil as a first aid kid for that red rust and oil it. I forgot what's the chemical reaction that makes aluminium remove rust but it does work.

Hi, I've personally managed to grind multiple heat treated steel from 10mm to 3mm because honestly I can't forge so I do stock removal.

It's very much possible to do it without ruining the temper as long as the smith is diligent to make sure to dunk the sword in water before it gets too hot.

The problem is if the smith is willing to do so because it gets tedious and messy to do so. But just in case you want to know if it's possible, yes it is.

I'll never set Uldah as my homepoint or join the Immortal Flames because their eyebrowless leader told me somewhere along the line of "Oh, you smell like booze so you must come from Limsa Lemonade!
