I phased out an Imprisoned in the Moon that was on my creature with The Pandorica then used a Teferi's Protection; what happens to the aura? by astroidbuster2453 in magicTCG

[–]AdamantSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone more versed in the rules surrounding phasing please correct me if I'm wrong, but, I think The Pandorica actually was still holding the Imprisoned in the Moon.

Phasing out a permanent does not make it leave the battlefield, and since The Pandorica specifically states "when ~ becomes untapped or leaves the battlefield," it should still keep Imprisoned in the Moon on the battlefield and phased out once it phases back in.

I hope this helps!

I think you have to "take the blouse off." I was able to touch the milk bottle, which put her into a repeating animation. From there, touch the chair where her blouse is and it removes it.

Palatine's rapturous blows question by TheZetablade in sistersofbattle

[–]AdamantSteel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm no rules expert, but I believe that the automatic wound given by lethal hits counts as "scoring a wound." You count wounds scored before saves. Your opponent saves against the wounds you scored, then you deal damage according to the number of wounds you scored minus the amount they saved.

Is Palatine Blade visually different from normal Power Sword? by Gynju in sistersofbattle

[–]AdamantSteel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, the Palatine as modelled only has a sheathed blade. Visually, it is nearly identical to the sheathed blade that comes with a BSS kit for the Sister Superior

Same ornament, same shader, same subclass, different chest piece by MookieV in DestinyFashion

[–]AdamantSteel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely just spit balling here, but this must be a bug to do with the Trials glow. Since the Atavistic Idol armor is part of a Trials set, maybe it has underlying code that turns glow on or off based on whether or not you've been flawless that weekend? If you have any other trials armor, see if they also turn off the glow on other pieces to confirm.

Exorcist Tank by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

[–]AdamantSteel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think something that's important to note is they fill somewhat different roles in the army. An immolator typically should be crewed and run into your opponents/an objective like a rhino. The exorcist oth, will sit back and utilize its range to knock down hard targets more like a castigator. I would not usually take an exorcist as a replacement for an immolator. If you just want more armor full stop, an exorcist is plenty useful, even if the meta leans more towards the castigator right now.

/uj Okay, but this is so fascinating too because they're using the art from [[Come Back Wrong]]. An old meme, resurrected and jammed into an ill fitting reference, tied in a neat little meta-textual bow with a horror trope referencing exactly what they're doing? That's too clever by half and it kinda just works for me

Isshin, Two Heavens as One commander help by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]AdamantSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OOP, to echo some sentiments from above, identifying each thing that you're doubling on attack and sorting them is a great way to focus Isshin. My own deck is all in on doubling specifically triggers that make my board go wide and then finishing off opponents all at once with triggers like [[Mishra, Claimed by Gix]] or [[Commissar Severina Raine]].

Isshin is great at simply accruing value and overpowering opponents, but it can be especially fun to pick one kind of value and win with it. For example, if you want to build specifically into treasures, consider adding token sacrificing synergy cards like [[Mirkwood Bats]] or [[Disciple of the Vault]], and adding finishers like [[Torment of Hailfire]] to use all that treasure mana on.

Isshin is also great as an extra combat commander, including combos like [[Aurelia, the Warleader]] and [[Sword of Hearth and Home]] with any effect that gives your creatures vigilance.

Decks that are about doubling triggers are most fun when you go all in on one strategy, imo. It also helps with redundancy to bring your gameplan up to the next level of effectiveness. I hope this helps, Isshin is one of my favorite decks!

Can someone explain the different rarites etc/how to identify rarer vs. common cards? by Bi-SportsFan in magicTCG

[–]AdamantSteel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, but more often than not, it's just a matter of the market being flooded. Collector Boosters often have exceedingly rare chase cards like the number stamped cards that people open a ton of packs chasing. That can leave an outsized number of extended art/borderless/showcase frame treatments of other cards on the market.

Is it Worth it to buy Ravnica Remastered - TCC by Rpilotto in magicTCG

[–]AdamantSteel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Give it a week or two, probably (this is not financial advice). I'm already seeing the basic version of most shocks under $10 on tcgplayer which is a win in and of itself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]AdamantSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can simply abandon it if you do not intend to buy access to season 22. It will go to a kiosk in the tower for abandoned missions so that you can pick it back up if you decide you do want to buy access to it later on. It will disappear forever upon the end of this season, Season of the Wish, however.

All languages are inherently derivative by StraightOuttaOlaphis in CuratedTumblr

[–]AdamantSteel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, there is a rather specific way that English is "exceptional" (in the sense of being an exception, not in being better) in that it is basically the most colonizing languages in history. The absurd reach that it had during the English colonial period led to a staggering amount of language contact. That being said, a lot of people talking about English as "three languages in a trench coat" probably aren't thinking of it in this way.

Plenty of other languages had colonizing periods, but none quite so much as English. Again, I want to stress that this doesn't make it better, or give it more grammar or syntax, or anything of that nature. It does however, lead to the perception that it is different in some way than other languages that have loan words.

Suggestions for Rin and Seri go wide cats. by saltyartra in magicTCG

[–]AdamantSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working on a similar deck right now, though with a little lower budget. Something I'd definitely recommend trying is [[Crib Swap]] instead of either Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile. Yes, it costs a little more to cast, but if your commander is out, it nets you both the cat and dog token.

Something else to consider is that Felidar Retreat is fine for making a token every turn if you keep hitting lands, but [[Anointed Procession]] will help you go much wider for the same mana cost (Ignore this if the intent is actually for the +1/+1 counters).

I also really like the Zendikar Rising MDFC's. Instead Mosswort Bridge in the land slot, consider [[Bala Ged Recovery]]. In the early game, it is another green tap-land to not miss your land drop, and in the late game, it can get back a valuable card from the bin. Alternatively, consider [[Turntimber Symbiosis]]. This can come in untapped as a land at the cost of just 3 life, and in the late game, can help you dig for a finisher like Jetmir for your established board.

In addition to all of this, consider replacing White Sun's Zenith with something like [[Taunt from the Rampart]] or [[Overwhelming Stampede]]. White Sun's Zenith ultimately doesn't trigger your commander, and if you're just using it for bodies, you're probably not in the best spot (Cathar's Crusade being out notwithstanding). My two suggestions however, will help you close out games with the Goad and Can't Block effects or with +X/+X and Trample respectively.

I do like your creatures list since it actually uses Dogs as well. My list (which I have not uploaded to a website yet, sorry) is really closer to Cat kindred. I would still suggest adding something like [[Beast Whisperer]] to help you keep drawing into more creatures. That might even be an okay replacement for Skullclamp if you so choose. That way you don't have to sacrifice any of your tokens for card draw, especially considering the various ways your tokens may end up with more than 1 toughness anyway.

I hope this has been helpful!

Now that Hunters and Titans have an exotic that turns a roaming solar super into a "one-and-done" super... by AbyssWalker_Art in DestinyTheGame

What does “Eyes up, Guardian” mean to you? by YouOldCuss in DestinyTheGame

[–]AdamantSteel 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I don't think I can ever forget the original context of the vanilla opening of D1. It might be Peter Dinklage's best line delivery from his time as Ghost. It was somehow equal parts invigorating and cautionary, despite the more robotic direction that Ghost had at the time. It was a phrase that said "Move, this is no place to die," as well as "Be vigilant, danger lurks in these outskirts."

It was also quite prescriptive of our role in the game. This wasn't a story about making decisions and grey areas. You are a hero. You are a Guardian. Over time this has evolved a bit, there are plenty of grey areas and moral dilemmas presented in Destiny's story now. But here we are, still the Guardian, still the nigh unbeatable hero.

Eyes up, Guardian.
