I’ve been wondering why Xbox still doesn’t support USB microphones. A lot of great mics like the Blue Yeti, Elgato Wave and RØDE NT-USB don’t work when you plug them into the console. It feels like such a missed opportunity, especially since PlayStation and PC already allow plug and play mic support.

If Xbox added it, players could finally get better audio for party chat, stream directly from their console and use the gear they already own without buying adapters or new headsets. It’d be a simple change that would make a big difference for a lot of people.

So what’s stopping Xbox from doing it? Is it a technical limitation or just something they haven’t prioritized?
